Poor and happy!!!!

Someone who says they would rather be rich and miserable is an idiot with no clue about life. Money can only buy things. It cannot buy love, health or even security. Someone who is poor and happy has everything they need. Most people with money are miserable just like everyone else except they have the burden of knowing what a poor man doesn't, that when he finally gets all that money that it won't change anything! When you are poor you think it's greener on the other side and when you are rich you know for a fact it's not.

I would rather be rich and miserable. That's sad to say but true. I somehow don't think it's possible to be truly happy when you are poor. I can't remember a time when I was hungry and had a smile on my face. Do you know any poor people who are actually happy? Brezak8 says he's poor and very happy. If he was truly poor would he be able to be on yahoo answers? They may be able to laugh or make light of their situation some of the time just to get by and live from day to day but a poor man can't be happy in a world of smiling rich happy go luckys. I'd rather be rich and miserable i guess. Money can buy thinks to take away the misery sometimes. I'd be cool with that.

I would rather be poor and happy instead of rich and miserable because if I was rich and miserable what good is that gonna do? I might have alot of money, but I won't be happy.

I'd rather be rich of course. I've been poor and it sucks. If you're rich you don't have to be miserable for long, you can just leave that behind and find happiness somewhere else.
No one in there right mind wants to poor. Like is just too short to be miserable.

I am in fact POOR and HAPPY...its not that bad...
I am so intrigued why you post this question in this category..are you considering marrying two particular people? Are you happier with the poor one and miserable with the rich one?

the stock market can crash, and people can go from rags to riches.

Why don't you get a job and make your own money and then you can be as poor or wealthy as you like?

Tricky question...well, to tell you the truth, being happy and being miserable both are a state of mind...and i'm pretty sure i'd know how to take care of it...so, i can be rich and happy as well as i can be poor and happy. Never miserable.

At the moment I am miserable because I am poor and cant afford to experience the things i want to. Poverty does not make anyone happy. Give me money and it might not be sunshine and daisies all the time but at least I will be able to have a life. From that I can make my own happiness.

Poor and happy. Happy being the key word....if you are truly happy, then it doesn't matter that you aren't rich. On the other hand, personally, I think it would be tough to be entriely happy and poor at the same time.

Poor and happy, without a doubt. Money can't buy happiness. Life is too short to be unhappy, I would rather have lived a happy life than have had money to buy a lot of *things.* material possessions are not what makes life beautiful.
