As your friends have invited you to be part of this very important day in their lives, and the beginning of their lives together, it is thoughtful to make the effort to dress well, be clean and tidy, and well groomed.
There is no real need to spend a lot of money on new clothes unless you want to ~ the rule at a wedding is that it is the happy couple's day, and guests should not try to 'upstage' the bride and groom in dress, or behaviour.
You will want to select a suitable gift (speak to the relatives of the couple if you are unsure what to give them), and wrap it nicely. Don't forget to attach a card with your name, so your friends will know which of the gifts they receive is from you.
Put on your best suit, make sure your grooming is tip top, and go along prepared to support your friends on this special day.
Have fun :-)

Like the others said if your due for a haircut get it a week or two before so your comfortable with it. If you can afford a new out fit then go for it. Find out if the dress is Formal (usually it is) if so go buy a suit if you will wear it again or otherwise nice pair of pants and shirt. That with a nice tub will have you looking and smelling good. You also need a gift of some sort with a card reminder: write in card what your gift is because the couple will not remember everything. One less job for the bridesmaids as well. Have clean shoes and your best attitude to have much fun and hopefully meet some new people. Don't get drunk but have a great time. Best behaviour is more important than perfume.

Do what you think will make you feel is good enough to show that you take the marriage as an important thing. Do what you can and show your friend that you are happy for them and look sharp because you might be in the wedding photos. And another reason is because weddings are a great place to hook up!

if your hair needs cutting, then cut it, if your shoes need shining then shine them. if you have a suit, wear it, if you want to wear a suit, then buy one. if you are out of cologne, or want to try a new one, then go for it. you should buy a nice gift, or gift certificate to somewhere the couple would love to go, like dinner at a nice restaruant, or tickets to a show or play, or sports event, something personal. newly weds can always use cash. buy them a nice card, stick the money or certificate in it. have fun.

Haircut, if needed. Shave, shower, and dress in your best suit. Get a new one if needed. Pick up a wedding gift, or money card, whichever you prefer. Shine your shoes. Attend wedding, and have a good time.

Find out first what sort of dress is expected -- formal, semi-formal or whatever. Ask the friend whose wedding it is about dress expected for guests -- expectations vary vastly between individual weddings and between different parts of the country and world.
