I'm looking for a wedding dress that costs between $600-$1000. Please...No David's Bridal.

Did anyone have a dress in this price range? What was the exact cost? What designer was it? Do you have a picture of it?

Also, how much did you pay for alterations and your bridal accessories?

There are heaps of dresses in that price range.
My options are (havn't decided yet):

This is $540 from
http://www.valcollections2.com/storefrontprofiles/DeluxeSFItemDetail.aspx?sid=1&sfid=111804&c=0&i=178117596
They have heaps of heavily discounted gowns.
or

They have just about every designer in your price range.

Which can be bought from www.houseofbrides.com for about $750

Be sneaky and try the dresses on at your local store so you get an idea of fitting before you buy it off the internet.
Alterations usually cost between $200 and $400 when being done by a professional bridal seamstress.

I just bought mine (discount is up til early August) at Alfred Angelo's store in Beverly Hills. Go to his site (someone else gave it too) for a store near you. On the site, go to Destinational dresses. My style number is 1816.

If you live near L.A/beverly hills and decide to check it out, talk to Veronica. She is the most sweetest person. She will make you feel so comfortable and help you with any choices you might be stuck on etc.

I bought mine for $499. (Original 540.00) with Veil costing of $40 (original, but discontinued now, for $99).

I am waiting for it to come in a few months (have to order if not sold off the rack). Then I will know how much alterations will be. I bought a size 10. Even though my chest and waist is more of a size 8, if not 6 (by feb, I will be 20 pounds more lighter as I already lost 15. Goal is 20 more pounds). My hips are a size 12 and will be a size 10 by then. so, you can see I am a "hip" girl with a smaller top half. but depending on style of dress and how much altering, will depend on how much. I would save at least $300 for just incase. Doesn't mean you will use it all, just good to keepy a large amount in handy. Heck, you might see a pair of earings you like in there if you have money left over to spend lol.

You may want to try local bridal shops in your area. $600-$1000 is a great budget you should be able to fin a really nice dress! Smaller shops will give you more personal attention too. I did find some site for you to browse but there is nothing liek trying things on first! Good luck!

You will find TONS of dresses in this range. I would say that it's the "average" price range.

My dress, however is from David's Bridal. It is identical to Maggie Sottero's "Ivy". And Alfred Angelo makes and identicla one as well. Mine was just under $600. The alterations are going to be around $250. My veil was $175. I got my tiara from ebay for about $25 and my jewelry from ebay for about $25. The items I got from ebay saved me a few hundred.

My dress from all three deisgners...

My dress was a Amelia by Mon Cheri. I paid $600 for it with tax and shipping. I ordered it from www.jaysbridal.net
http://www.houseofbrides.com/product.php?productid=2989

Alterations were very expensive! Because of the lace over lay and beading. In order to take it up, all the beading had to be removed and replaced so it wasn't cheap!

i just bought my dress a few months ago- it was $1000 from sottero and midgley (maggie sottero) But they have really beautiful dresses at reasonable prices.(also very nice fabrics) I would def. recommend going to a nice bridal salon. Personally, i was disgusted with David's bridal in my area. Their fabrics seemed cheap and overpriced for what they were.

If you shop on the web carefully you may see what you like. Also eBay may get you a good deal for your $600.00.
