My apartment building caught on fire yesterday morning. Needless to say when the firefighters busted my door down the entire place infested with smoke. I got the dress out an veil out, but I had to carry it through a thick black cloud of smoke. I'm going to try the dry cleaners, but I was wondering if anyone knew of a special secret to get the smell out?

My best friend was engaged last August and they are having the wedding September of NEXT year. so its still over a year away. I just got engaged 2 weeks ago and we want to get married in a year. So, maybe May of next year. However, I have a feeling this might annoy my friend and I dont want to "steal her thunder" so to say.

I am 49 and have waist length hair and would like to wear it in a 50's style for my rock n roll themed wedding next April but can not find any sites on the net with styles that long to show the hairdresser. I do not want to get it cut.
I would like to be able to see it on me as a virtual make over but all the sites I've found want money to do the virtual thing.
Any suggestions?

I recently read about this drink called X-Rated Fusion Vodka, it's Vodka infused with blood orange, mango, and passion fruit. Has anyone ever tried it? It sounds good and I was thinking I might want it as a filling in a wedding cake, mixed in the buttercream, something exotic and unexpected. All adult reception, no kids. Or I might just do pineapple filling since it's pretty simple and common.

Ok so I have been engaged 2 times previous and let me just clue you in before you judge....
Ex Number 1 - 50 dollar ring from a pawn shop
Ex Number 2 -A 130 dollar ring from Walmart
Now I am engaged for the third time and I went with my fiance to pick out the ring...It is beautifull
Not anything crazy like a 30000 dollar set but reasonable and affordable. He has no problem with this and I already have the ring and everything. I was really just wondering if it was wrong for me to want a nice ring for a change?
And Ex 1 had a good job like 60 grand a year good
Ex 2 had just gotten out of basic and had at least 4 grand saved...that I know of.

Do you think its a bit harsh or just wanting not to wear cheap jewlery when I know we could have afforded much more?

What they expect in general from the virgin wife - they expect a shy girl or a arrogant girl? does they get extra happiness during sex when they understand the girl is virgin? what they expect from the girl, when they make "love" to her, that the girl will behave crazy too or behave shy? I m asking about the first night of marriage - not for general days after marriage.

I know that the Cathedral are the really long ones and that the Chapel ones are the shorter style trains but do some people refer to the Chapel as Semi-Cathedral or is that something different? Maybe one that is a little longer than the Chapel but shorter than the Cathedral?

I just got engaged and I couldn't be happier. I ADORE this man. I've loved him for 4 years and couldn't imagine sharing my life with anyone else.

Problem: my family HATES him. For those of you who have seen The Notebook--think of a couple like that who kind of fought a lot when they were younger. All my parents think of are all the negative things I EVER SAID about him during our little fights. So they think I deserve "better."

Also--he isn't exactly the same religion as my family, and my family is strictly religious.

But I know I would be miserable with anyone else and have failed each time I've tried even dating others in the past (we've been on and off for these past 4 years).

I wish I didn't have to keep the engagement secret. I don't know HOW to handle the marriage.

As stupid as this sounds, it will truely break my close family members hearts when they hear the news. Mainly b/c of religion.

I don't know what to do!

Be cut off from my family, or lose THE LOVE of my life?

I am looking for websites of wedding receptions to get some ideas for colors and decor. Anyone know of any good ones? All the bridal boards...the knot, etc, are no good for that kind of thing. I want to glamourize a small heritage room that only fits around 130 people.

A couple of years ago, one of my friends, who I hadn't spoken to in over three years, invited me to her wedding, not only to attend, but to be her maid of honor. I agreed to do it because we had made a promise in high school (Yes, I know, very juvenile) and she hadn't made any friends in her new town so I kind of felt bad. (Yes totally WRONG reason to attend, but I wouldn't leave anyone hanging like that)

But now, with my own wedding, I already have my bridal party chosen, and they are my sister, and my two best friends. Is it wrong that I don't invite her to be a part of my party, or is it OK if I just invite her to the wedding, without being a part of the party?

I don't want to tread on toes, or hurt her feelings, but we only talk every couple of years, and the only e-mails we send to each other are jokes, so our friendship is definately not that strong.

We are supposed to be getting married on Halloween. Everyone who knows us knows thats what we want. The last couple weeks almost everyone on both sides of our families are telling us we have to change the date, the style, etc. My mother actually yelled at me over it and several family members are threatening to boycott. When reminded it is our day and thank u for the advice i was told that "miss manners says its not for the bride and groom but for the families"....HELP?!?!?

I am just curious. I have so many friends getting engaged, and have seen so many people get married, and everybody seems to think that a decent ring costs 1000 bucks or more. What's a decent price or how much should they cost?

Why does it seem like everyone is getting married left and right? I am 20 and it seems like I have met so many people lately who are engaged or married. Most people don't even wait until they've been together for over a year! I know a girl who was dating a guy for two MONTHS and they just got married! Didn't even get engaged! What is going on? Why isn't anyone waiting until they know the other person anymore?? I told my friend I wanted to wait until my boyfriend was out of college (three more years), and he told me that was so long away, and asked me "what if it never happened?" Why is everyone in such a rush?

The church that we are getting married in is very old. I love everything about it except the alter. I honestly do not like anything about the alter and we are not able to move or change anything. The think that bothers me most is the Jesus picture that is in the background. I do not have a problem with Jesus, so dont get on me about that, I just do not want him in my pictures. I need some help with decorating. How can I make this beautiful? We are also not able to remove or cover it up.

Alter:

Any suggestions in decorating the rest of the church is welcomed too. My colors are White and Black with hints of Red.

Isn't the damn wedding a theme of it's own? Everyone I know is either doing something tacky or making their cake topper their theme? What gives?
Can't people just have a normal wedding these days.....

and this is a big trouble, but... in one small town in another country, couriously I found a disposable and inexpensive device named Equalizer. Whit this Equalizer, females can pee with out have to seat down. No, no worry about, you DO NOT have put in nothing in any place, just hold it with one hand in the right place (is very comfortable), pee in stand position, when finish you throw away the device and free to go. I'm thinking in bring to our country the Equalizer but before make a deal with the factory, I need to be sure we are going to have customers. Let me know what yo thing about. Is fantastic!!!

I have a problem. I want to have the horse and carriage drop me off in front of the aisle that i will be walking down to meet my husband to be but the place that i'm having the ceremony does not have access for the horse and carriage to pass thru to drop me of in front of the aisle. Is there any other way i can have the horse and carriage play apart of my ceremony. I really want this. it's been my dream since I was a little girl. Does anyone know anyplace where I can get a garden wedding where there is room for a horse and carriage to drop me off in front of the aisle. I"m having my wedding in miami florida. Money is not gonna be a problem. i'm willing to spend whatever it cost. thanks for all your help.
