Is it normal to say the most stupid and horrible things right before the wedding? Last night I pretty much told my fiancé that he was cheap. It was about my engagement ring. I'm NOT a material person, and ANY ring from HIM is worth all the money in the world, and I don’t care how much he spent.....but why did I start an argument about it?? I've been starting arguments for the last week or so. What is wrong with me??? I love him with all my heart but I'm hurting him with the way I have been acting. He may even cancel the wedding now, and I can't blame him. WHY am I doing this, and how can I take back the awful things I said?? It's COMPLETELY all MY fault. He's been nothing but good to me.

People think it's ridiculous that I spent $260 on my veil but I have no clue how much it's supposed to cost. Funny thing is my dress cost a little over $400. Here is it...so tell me is it crazy to spend so much on the veil when the dress is not too far from that price.

I've also deposited $50 which until now she never refunded nor has she contacted me to return. She accused me of not caring for my wedding, and she is unprofessional by not considering that all weddings have flaw. 15 minutes is not 2 hours.

My husband says no way, he is doing what he has been called to do. I say, we have driven up to 500 miles round trip, and given many weekends for rehersals and weddings, and it would be nice to be paid at least a token amount.

what do you think?

On my wedding day I would like to purchase tulle and drape it down the middle of the pews accented by pew bows. I want it to be pretty with a gentle look. My question is does anyone know what I need width wise to execute this look? Does anyone have any other helpful advise on decorating pews with tulle and bows?

I wrote a few times on here about the cousin that purposely invited every sibling in my family except me to her wedding. I feel hurt & embarrassed, esp since I've never done anything wrong to her. A few people responded that I should get her a gift or card, send my congratulations to her, to prove that I'm the bigger person while also making her feel guilty for doing such an ****** move.

That might be a decent idea, but how would I send it to her when I don't know where she lives?? I could ask my aunt or our mutual grandmother, but I highly doubt they'd give it to me. My aunt is very catty, & had a long "cold war" w/ my mom in the past(my mom's dead now by the way). My grandmother is the one that told my dad that I was purposely not invited, & tried to convince my dad to keep the wedding secret from me simply so I wouldn't complain! I think them giving me her new address would be the LAST thing they'd do!

So now what? I guess sending a gift/card isn't a good idea yet? What is?

my boyfriend has told me that i'm going to be engaged before my birthday (September), and we've decided that we're prob going to plan the wedding around late may or early june
the thing is, i want to show my parents that i'm not as scatterbrained and irrespondsible as they think i am (what can i say, i'm their baby....their 22 year old baby), and when we get engaged and tell them, i want to be able to show my mother and sister that i already have a lot of it planned out so they will see that i'm not going to make them plan it all for me (i mean, i want them to be a part of it, but i don't want to just say "hey mom, i'm engaged! now plan everything for me!") so what do i need to go about doing first?
please no mean answers guys!
thanks!!

I want wine for the bridesmaid dresses, but what would be a good accent color to go with it?

2007-06-29 05:53:24 · 24 answers · asked by Anonymous

(You might need to read my question "Was I mean to the bridesmaid???" if you're not familiar with this question.

Well, now, she's getting back with me finally and asking when and where she should go to get her dress.

I've been childish, I admit, and not returned her emails, but seriously, she's not going to get her dress on time, even with a rush charge applied to the dress.

Her husband also called my fiance and left him a voicemail and said that he and she were ready to come and get fitted and measured, but they want to do it all in the same day. The husband's tux would be fine, and he could get the tux, but the bridesmaid dress won't match the others because it won't come from the same color dye set. (Supposedly.)

I don't want to lose them as friends, and I know my fiance doesn't, either, but they never called us back until this past Sunday. I've been milling over this since then, and the wedding is September 1st.

HELP!

Some time ago, my cousin got married. Months prior she'd notified me that she was engaged & due to get married at the end of the yr. Then I never heard about the wedding until after it happened...apparently she invited EVERYBODY in my immediate family EXCEPT me. She invited my dad & all 4 of my siblings. No one in my family has seen/contacted our cousins much in the past 9yrs(due to a "cold war" b/t my mom & aunt), but before that, I was the cousin she'd been closest to. I never did anything wrong to her(how could I, if I'd only seen her twice in the last 9yrs??), so I'm hurt & disgusted.

If I get married someday, should I leave her off the invite list since she specifically included everyone except me? My dad thinks so. He thinks that I should just leave her whole family off the invite, but I'd rather invite everyone in her family EXCEPT her(to be passive-aggressive).

Also, if you were my family, would you have gone to the wedding if you knew that I was deliberately uninvited?

My fiance and I are getting our engagement pictures done tomorrow. We're having our pictures done at a park and it's supposed to be nice - about 75-80 degrees and sunny. The appointment is at 5:30.

Now, I plan on wearing a white button up blouse with a tank top under it, and jean capris.

I think he's going to wear a light blue plaid short sleeve shirt and jeans.

People have said that it sounds like we're going to be too casual. Others have said that it sounds great, because we hate to dress up.

Any ideas of poses we can do that don't look too "forced"?

I asked a online company to see me for an appointment
to measure me and make a wedding dress for me.

They have a very good reputation on ebay (nearly 99%
positive feedback) and a professional website. When I spoke with
them on the phone they were courteous and very helpful.

They were nice at the appointment, flexible with the time
and date, did'nt complain when I was late and so on.

Having completed my wedding dress on time, they sent
it to me in secure packaging. But it is an inch too big on both
sides, also two inches too long.

Their prices are competitive because they don't have a shop...I have
to say the dress is lovely but when I told them it was too big and too
long they said it had been made to the measurements provided, and
would not pay for alterations.

They went on to say that if, and only if it was their genuine mistake they
would pay for alterations, even though their policy states they do not pay
for alterations.

Is it fair for them to ask me to pay for alterations, or am I being unreasonable...
I know a bridal store would have charged
me much much more for the dress I would have had to wait longer, also charge me for
alterations, so I feel bad asking them to do more for me.

I want my dress to be perfect, but don't want to pay for alterations
(or rather my fiance does'nt!!). And I don't want to dis this company, who are a husband
and wife team and seem really good. Weddings are SOOOOO stressful!!

So what can I do?

A friend of mine wants to have 150 people at her wedding, but has to pay it herself so there really isn't much money. She's disappointed, I'm making her be realistic and not so sentimental about it all, but nonetheless - When you really want to have wedding with 150 people involved, then what would you do to chop costs down to bare minimum? She's making her own wedding gown, and there are several people willing to make things.

What are some inexpensive ideas you've seen done that help make a low-budget wedding not look cheap? Anything that we should avoid doing, that seem way too tacky?

Thank you!

My boyfriend and I will be paying for it ourselves, our parents will probably be taking care of small things, like the flowers and cake, but most likely we'll be paying for most of it. Anyways, I know the number will vary quite a bit, but about how much should we expect to pay for everything, wedding, reception, the whole yards for a 150-200 person wedding?

I'm planning on having just my 2 sisters and my boyf sister in my party. I would pick one my sisters as maid of honor but i dont want to hurt the other ones feelings. I was thinking of just having them. My boyf wants his dad, his friend and my brother in the wedding too. But he wants his dad to be his best man. Does this mean I need to pick a maid of honor? I was thinking just having the 6 of them with no best man or maid of honor.

We are having a rockabilly themed wedding. My fiance and I both have tattoos and we want these to be a part of the theme as well. I am trying to find creative guest gifts that fit into this theme. I also would love some suggestions for decorations. The venue is outside on a beautiful historic farm.

I was just talking to a friend about registering (since it's a little overwhelming sometimes) and she registered for a bread maker but has never made bread or wanted to make bread in her life. She said she though it was a good idea at the time, LOL. I was just wondering for fun if there was anything you registered for and later was like "why did I ask for this?"
