but I am British and she is Jamaican (neither of us are American citizens). Could it be done?

either of you embassies would be considered the native soil of that country. So if you got married at the British embassy it would be like you flew home to do it. I'm not sure how the paper work would be done though. Marriages generally are recognized from country to country (my husband and I did not become unmarried by visiting Mexico for instance-we had to come back and hire a lawyer, lol) I'm sure this has come up before and some one at one of your embassies, or the marriage license office in New York knows how to accomplish it. I'm not sure, contact both of your embassies and ask, there may be problems getting married there, as a citizen since neither of you are.

I'm certain it could be arranged...The real question, however, is would it be valid in your own home countries? You need to check with your own governments, to confirm whether or not the marriage license would be honored.
