I want a cathedral veil with lace and a few rhinestones... I can't find any good websites or pictures. If you know of anything that would be greatly appreciated!!! I am a very visual person so pictures and websites are what I'm looking for. Also, if you have any suggestions for a veil. Thanks again in advanced! :)

what do you think is better to have waiters carry around appetizers and drinks or have it all on one table with plates and people can just get what they want and an open bar?

the following is my 1st draft of my moh speeh for my sisters wedding. im trying to keep it short, sweet, and not too corney. any feedback/suggestions would be very helpful.
(please no rude comments, im not the best writer. thanks!)

I have never been very good at talking in front of people,
But I figured for my big sisters wedding, I could give it a try
First of all, the ceremony was just wonderful. I hope that it went as you both hoped.
There is a saying that goes ‘the first kiss is always the most important in a love story’
Although there have been many kisses before today, its only been a couple hours since you took your first kiss as man and wife
now marriage has no guarantees. You guys are gonna have many hard times as well as good times. But I think that as long as you both work together, then theres no reason you shouldn’t be happy.
So finally, congratulations to Stephanie, my wonderful big sister… and a family welcome to brandon.
i wish you both the best of love

They soon stopped when i started doing it to them at funerals!!

Wait...I DO want him to propose, but hear me out:

My boyfriend and I planned a trip to Paris and we're leaving soon.A month ago, my boyfriend told me he is proposing to me some time this summer.

Well we've talked a lot about the proposal and ring and everything and I don't know for sure but it's starting to sound like the proposal will take place in Paris. Sounds wonderful, I know...so why do I not want that to happen? Read on....

My family is very religious. My parents are against me going on this trip in the first place since my boyfriend and I aren't married...but I'm 28 years old and there's nothing they can do...so they pretend to be happy but I know they're not. SO my parents have refused to tell the rest of the family (grandparents, cousins) that I'm going on this trip w/ a man who I'm not married to...and I'm afraid if he proposes over there, how will I tell my grandparents?

I love him so much and I want to get engaged, but how do I ask him not to propose in Paris?

I am a very sad mom my daughter wants me to pay for her wedding, she is 24 and has been living with the guy for 4 years and they already have 3 children. Her wedding is over 15K which I think is crazy. I volunteered that she use the money for a down payment instead and she said absolutely NO. Now she doesn't speak to me because I will not pay for it. I don't want to lose her or my grandkids. What should I do.

We are travelling to US for my Boyfriends brothers wedding at the end of August and although they have a wedding list there's nothing on it which is really a suitable gift ( most of it's crap to be honest). We would like to get them something personal and as we probably wont see them for a while as they are going to be living in the US, felt that the kettle etc they've asked for wasn't appropriate. It needs to be something which is easily packed, wont tip us over our luggage allowance and will survive the flight. Any ideas?

Okay, so how does this work? Whose family sits on what side? Is there a particular order to which family members get seated first? Obviously the parents of the bride & groom get front row seats, but what do we do with aunts & uncles? Do we need to assign seats and tell the ushers where each person goes, or do we let them use their best judgment (what if they're only 16?). How will the ushers know who is family and who are friends, if not everyone in the family will be wearing corsages or boutonnières?

Help!

My fiance and I are short on money and want to get married, ,just the two of us. And my mother wants to be there and take us out for supper and we want it to be just about us. We are just getting married at our home, and we are not inviting anyone. We would like to have a reception or ceremony later on this year though.

My boyfriend got me a very beautiful promise ring for christmas the link below is where you can go to view my ring..

http://www.zales.com/product/index.jsp?productId=2427504&cp=2109134&categoryId=2109134&parentPage=search&searchId=20947714394

my boyfriend got the ring on sale for approx 600 dollars. Being the kind of girl i am (no at all greedy) i feel the ring was good enough to be an engagement ring. His only reason for not proposing with it was that he felt i would think it was not expencive enough...COme on now a SIX HUNDRED DOLLAR PROMISE RING !! who needs a promise ring that expensive.

Ok well any way the reason i am on her is b/c i told him there is no need to spend alot of money on an engagement ring when i love my promise ring...he feels a little funny about just proposing to me with a ring he gave to me as a promise ring (even though he would have proposed if he had felt like it was good enough) What shoud he do that doesnt envolve alot of money??

My fiance and I have finally set a date for our wedding. It's not until 2008 (we're waiting until after our little one is born), but I want to start planning now...haha, and that's just it. I'm clueless! I have to idea where to start .. if anyone could offer any suggestions that would be great. I don't really have a theme, but I want it to be elegant, but modern. I'm already on theknot.com and I don't want to hire a consultant...just because of the budget. Im kind of looking for color schemes, and just ideas. I did see these colors, creams, ivorys and very very light orange, but I don't know. Any help would be appreciated! Thanks -Emily.

We are needing ideas of different places to get married. I am not a religious person so I think it is wrong for me to get married in a church (seeing as though I dont have their beliefs) but I dont want a registry office wedding either. I have thought about a hotel but they are usually not very good and its not a very good idea to do it outside as you cant guarantee that the weather is going to be nice. We are totally lost for ideas so can anyone help and think of different places or venues to get married that would be nice and special too.

Hi,
I'm getting married at the end of July.
We are having a wedding with just 2 witnesses to save hassle and money.
Do you have to say vows in order for it to be legal or can you just sign the register?

My boyfriend and I are no longer technically engaged although he still plans on marrying me in the next one and a half to two years. I told him I didn't want to be engaged until I felt he was ready to be more responsible and called off the wedding. I refuse to wear my ring or even look at wedding stuff. I've stopped planning, which presents a problem if I do want to marry him in a year or two. I know that it takes about a year to properly plan and pay for a wedding, so my question is this, do I go ahead and buy the gown that I love and continue to pick up wedding odds and ends along the way, or do I just forget about it and wait until he asks me again? I don't want to seem like I'm being sneaky or changeable, but I already had this entire thing planned in my head. I'd already bought somethings for invitations such as stickers, do I finish paying for the invitations materials and just store them? Most of my friends say go ahead and buy the things I know I want, like the gown.

In order to keep costs down, my fiancé and I are planning a small wedding with only close friends and close family members. The weddings we have been invited to recently are that of friends we aren't very close to and could almost be classified as acquaintances. Is it tacky to not return the invite? Thanks in advance.

It's my wedding dress. It is an Oleg Cassani from Davids Bridal. When I tried on the dress I absolutly loved it. But now Im having second thoughts. Im worried its not formal or extravagant enough. Its a champaigne color. I tried on white ones but it didnt look good with my skin tone. I am asian & italian,my skin is more on the tan/olive side. It looked better with my complexion.

My daughter is getting married in October. Her style is very simple...she's not into frills, fluffs or lace.

We have had quite a bit of trouble finding a suitable veil, most particularly because the length she wants is not available anywhere (she wants it to be longer than her shoulder length hair, but short enough that it doesn't hit the top of her strapless gown).

That said, we plan on me making it...Not too hard, really, considering she is looking for something simple. I made my own when I got married years ago, so I'm familiar with the basics.

My question is this:
Considering she doesn't want any flowers or lace on it, how do you recommend finishing the edge of the tulle? I have recommended miniature (fake) pearls, but she's not excited about that, either. Her dress is white with a black sash...Would a black ribbon be too much? Ideas?
