My Dad like country- I could do Pop country but not straight out country (but if you know a good one, please suggested it and I'll check it out.) Any suggestion??
I like Carrie Underwood and Dolly Pardon if that gives you an idea of how country I am LOL.

Bubbles, I can't believe you haven't found this web site--http://www.wedalert.com/songs/fatherdaughter/index.asp
This is a listing of a whole bunch of father/daughter songs, some are country, some arent. You can listen to them (free--I think) and see which one you like the best! Hope this helps you!

Well, there's always "I Loved Her First" by Heartland...it's a real tear jerker!

Look at the two of you dancin' that way
Lost in the moment and each other's face
So much in love, you're alone in this place
Like there's nobody else in the world

I was enough for her not long ago
I was her number one, she told me so
And she still means the world to me
Just so you know
So be careful when you hold my girl

Time changes everything
Life must go on
And I'm not gonna stand in your way

I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart
Will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

How could that beautiful woman with you
Be the same freckled-face kid that I knew
The one that I read all those fairytales to
And tucked into bed all those nights

And I knew the first time I saw you with her
It was only a matter of time

I loved her first
I held her first
And a place in my heart
Will always be hers
From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
And I prayed that she'd find you someday
But it's still hard to give her away
I loved her first

From the first breath she breathed
When she first smiled at me
I knew the love of a father runs deep
Someday you might know what I'm goin' through
When a miracle smiles up at you
I loved her first
Ooh, ooh

HelloHello has another good suggestion..."My Wish" by Rascall Flatts is a great song!

Don't forget "In My Daughter's Eyes" by Martina McBride...it is (obviously) sung by a woman, and comes from a woman's perspective, but says a lot about what we parents see in our children, and what we hope they see in us.

Why don't the two of you listen to them together and pick one out that both of you like? Or think back to your childhood. Were there any songs you all use to listen to together that you liked? My family always listened to Jimmy Buffet. Especially his rendition of the song "Kingstontown". So at my wedding thats what we danced to. It was so much fun and meant so much because we both had memories with it! If you pick out a song you both like that then you will both enjoy it, especially if it has sentimental value beyond just what the words say!

"Everybody Dies Famous in a Small Town" is a great country rock song. Check it out. The drum solo will blow you away. Let me know what you think. Take care.

My Wish -- Rascal Flatts. I'm sure the lyrics are saying what he will be thinking.
