Definately make them travel themed. alot of people (myself included) would be miserable and think its corny to have to dance when my tables song came on.

Hey, this sounds like a great idea to me-just be sure that everyone at the table is capable enough to dance to the song you have chosen. I wouldn´t want my 96 year old grandmother dancing to ACDC:)

I have been to so many weddings where a DJ is hired, and I have been the only one, except for the bride and groom, on the dancefloor-what a waste. Maybe varying the music would help, and make it from different eras, i.e. 70s,80s, 90s, etc.

Do the different places. Then to decorate the table you can have pictures of the two of you at each place and list some of your favorite memories there. It will take a lot of work, but I think people would enjoy it more than having to listen to when a certian song was playing so they all get up and dance, just by themselves. Have fun!

Maybe you can combine the two - places you've been and songs you associate with those places or periods of time when you went to the places. If it's your wedding reception, go with what the two of you like the most. People are generally supportive and cooperative at weddings/receptions.

I like the places, but the song this is really unique and different! If you have outgoing friends and family, they would probably get a kick out of the song idea! It's a great way to get everybody up and dancing too and it sounds like a lot of fun! Love the idea!

Update: Plus if people are drinking, it will be hilarious!

Well, the songs is cute, but if you are going to have all ranges of ages sitting together, that could be a problem, plus, not everyone likes to dance, so saying "its your table, get up and dance!" isn't a great idea. I love the different places idea though

I think the different places you have traveled idea is better. You could give each table the theme of the place traveled. For example, if one table was Las Vegas, you could sort of decorate it with pictures from your trip there, alone with postcards from different Vegas sites and coins from a slot machine and playing cards and such. It would be a neat idea to make your tables different and a good opportunity to share stories of things your husband and you did together. Hope this helps!

I love the songs idea! I have never heard this one before, and I think it sounds fun, as well as unique!

Just be sure that all of the songs you're using are recognizable by everyone...you wouldn't want for them to hear the song, but not know that it's their turn to dance!

Another ideas is to have pictures of the ages. Each table is assigned a different age with a pic of my fiance and me at that age. (Ie. newborn, 3 yrs, 5 yrs, 10 yrs, 16, 21, etc.)

That sounds like a hoot! I would enjoy that as a guest.

But make sure each table has instructions/explanation. You could type them in a fun font on the computer. Have several copies at each table so it doesn't just get stuck at one couple cuz they might not pass it around..............

Have a wonderful life together.
