I have a problem. I want to have the horse and carriage drop me off in front of the aisle that i will be walking down to meet my husband to be but the place that i'm having the ceremony does not have access for the horse and carriage to pass thru to drop me of in front of the aisle. Is there any other way i can have the horse and carriage play apart of my ceremony. I really want this. it's been my dream since I was a little girl. Does anyone know anyplace where I can get a garden wedding where there is room for a horse and carriage to drop me off in front of the aisle. I"m having my wedding in miami florida. Money is not gonna be a problem. i'm willing to spend whatever it cost. thanks for all your help.

I live in new york so its difficult for me to find a garden that allows the horse and carriage. I need a place that will allow me to be dropped exactly in from of the ails i will be walking down.

I already have the reception place booked and it is 45 minutes away from the garden i want the ceremony to be at so they cannot take my husband and i to the reception. it's too far. what do i do?

How about the Spanish Monastery? It looks as if all of your guests would see you arrive in the carriage if you had the ceremony in the Loggia or the Savior Garden.

Another reasonable option would be the Koubek Mansion. The carriage would still have to pull up in front of the building, but if you arranged the seating appropriately in the Lawn & Garden area, you could just start walking through the Courtyard and up the aisle.

I have been to a wedding where a horse-drawn carriage did drop the bride off at the end of the aisle. The wedding was in a pasture (no kidding, but the cows were moved to a different pasture) She used a white runner for an aisle. She and her dad got out of the carriage and walked down the runner. You would have to have an outside venue for that to work, but you could be dropped in front of the church (or wherever) and then possibly ride to the reception.

Good luck. We have lots of parks and park like settings where I live that are booked up to a year in advance for weddings. Most do not accommodate horse-drawn carriages because of the damage they do to the grounds. Horses poop whenever and wherever they feel like it and the carriage wheels leave ruts in the turf unless the area where the bride will be dropped off is a paved area.

Secondly, I don't get it. What exactly is a horse drawn carriage supposed to symbolize? That you're a princess being delivered to your prince charming? How droll.

Typically, a horse and carriage would drop you off in front of the church and/or wedding location. While I can envision what you're talking about - there are going to be guests and stuff sitting there and I think that's why it would be a little problomatic.

You could also leave in the horse and carriage after the wedding (rather than arriving). That would be cool and you're riding off "into the sunset"

If you call the service that provides the horse and carriage I'll bet they have plenty of ideas on where to go. That's where I'd start. They'll know where there's plenty of room for the horses, a place for them to wait, a place to give rides to the guests and kids if you want that and a place for pics with the horses. I saw some delightful pics of the flower girl driving the horses at one wedding.

Why not have the horse and carriage pick you and your husband up after the ceremony and deliver you to the reception. Or get dropped off outside where you can and have your fiance meet you there and have him escort you in. It would be like Cinderella's prince is waiting for here.

When I was married I had the horse & carriage pick me and my uncle (dad was deceased so my uncle gave me away) up at my house. We rode to the church. Then when the ceremony was over the horse & carriage was there to take my husband & I to the reception.

Go around the town where you live, and any town around it. Find a garden that you fall in love with, then talk to the city. If that doesn't work, then find a Church with big outdoor grounds that you fall in love with. You have to find an open place, or it wont work, unfortunately. That idea sounds so romantic! Especially if it takes you to the reception with your new hubby, if the reception will be away from where you get married.

If you absolutley must have a horse, it could be your getaway "car" at the end of the ceremony or at the end of the night. Like after the ceremony when everyone lines up to watch you leave for the reception (or photographs) when people typically throw rice you could have it waiting for you and get into that together.

But if its not goin to work, its not going to work. Dont shift all your plans around to make room for a horse. It's a silly detail that can easily be forgotten. In 20 years when you look back are you really going to think "Gosh... if only there was a horse..."

after the ceremony and receiving line, you and the groom could have a romantic carriage ride through town while your guests go to the reception. most of those businesses have "just married" signs they will hang on the back. if you do it after the recieving line, then everyone will see your groom help you up into the carriage and ride away to your happily ever after.
