Ross Simons has gorgeous rings but the prices are pretty steep. You can also try Ultra Diamonds at http://www.ultradiamonds.com. I also heard Blue Nile was pretty good..of course, I'd rather shop in store for an engagement ring than online.

Go to independant jewlery stores, not chains. You will be able to bargin with them a little more, and they usually have better quality, selection and prices on rings. Take your spouse to be with you, and have them give you an idea of what they like if you don't already know. Then go back on a different day and pick out a ring. Just have fun with it.

Good Luck!

Where do you live? If you are in LA or surrounding areas I can send you to a great jeweler. I am an event photographer and my clients who book me early always get to save $1000's vs. by going to my guy vs. going to the malls. DO NOT BUY A RING FROM MALLS! Major rip off! Even Robins Brothers is a rip off. I have his information on my site. http://ladigitalphoto.com/goldfingers/ Go see Daniel and tell him Tom sent you from LAdigitalPhoto.com He will take care of you! When I got married I saved $900 on my ring and over $2000 on my wife's.

If you are from texas, check out Americus Diamond in San Antonio or Austin, or online, if you aren't from Tx WWW.Americusdiamond.com They have gorgeous rings in all different styles and price ranges, and are so helpful and friendly. They also have a video on their website to educate you about smart diamond buying that would be helpful no matter where you buy your rings.

www.bidz.com

You can get jewelry (Yes engagement rings too) for pennies on the dollar. I have bought several rings for less than $50 that would cost $500+ in a regular jewelry store.

E-BAY!!!!!!!!!! My daughter's engagement ring and diamond wedding band came from e-bay. So did her husband's. They are beautiful and who would know if they were used!! They sure saved a LOT of money that went towards buying a lot of things that they really needed.
