Hello All,

I'm 26, and I'm marrying a 43 yr. old man with two daughters. The girls have been part of my life for the past two years now...they are with us every other weekend.

We are including them in the ceremony, they will be part of our "Unity Sand ceremony" (instead of a unity candle), and at some point during the wedding, I'm going to give them each a piece of jewelry (The 13 yr old is getting a necklace, the 11 yr old is getting a charm with a charm bracelet).

As part of giving the jewelry to the girls, I intend on explaining why we picked those pieces of jewelry. I also want to give some sort of vows/promises to the kids..but I have no idea what to say.

I want to recognize the fact that I'm not just marrying their Dad...I'm becoming part of their family. They will be the only children I'll ever have.

I need suggestions on vows...ideas on what to say...or tell me if you have done this in your own wedding..

And why is it use when people get married. I looked it up on the internet and the last part a sixpence in her shoe finished it and i just want to know what it means. Because i want my wedding to cover most of the traditional things with a taste of my flavor to finish it off.

My best friend is getting married at the end of the month, and she and her fiance filed for a marriage license in Kansas (where they live). However, their wedding ceremony will be taking place in Missouri. Does it matter if the license came from another state than where the ceremony is taking place?

I am planning to get married but my fiance is Canadian so we will have an influx of about 30 to forty canucks.
I am thinking we forget taking a honeymoon and just hang out in our town with all our friends instead - do you have any other tips?

Okay, so we fought over our wedding plans so much that I just gave up completely and we just got married after church one sunday. No dress, no reception, NOTHING. We never had a honeymoon, and on our wedding night I was bawling because after we got married he wanted to go to his cousins house and finally we left about 3 hours later after he finally got the hint. I thought that MAYBE he'd planned a nice dinner or something, but no. We came straight home and he ordered pizza. He never does anything special for me for Valentines day. I got a rose and a bag of m&ms this year. For my birthday he let me bid on a Vera Bradley on ebay and then just invited his family to a resturant to eat and gave me a card, which actually was better than last year.. last year he didn't even get me a card.. we just went to the mall! I had bought a few new outfits so he said that they would be counted as my bday presents. For our first anniversary we went to an outlet mall and he bought me two fossil watches.

you just found out that she stole $250 out of your billfold. Would you wait until after the wedding to do something,...or would you do something before the wedding.????
Also, should you report her to the law enforcement, and let the legal system take its course with her.??? I need answers soon.

I am getting married this June, and my future mother-in-law is driving me nuts. I know she is just trying to be helpful, but she keeps trying to put all her ideas on me about what she thinks about how the wedding should be. She wants to decorate the reception and I can't get her to understand that is what we are paying the people at the place to do. That is not the only thing that is bothering me it just seems like she is planning her own wedding at times. so I am just so annoyed with all her ideas. My future husband if he says anything she gets mad at him for a couple of weeks. What should I do.

Girls your man has proposed and you are getting married. When you tell your parents, they are excited for you and your fiance. Since weddings tend to get outrageously expensive quickly, both of the parents offer you a nice down payment on a house and a simple wedding OR you are allowed to have a sit down wedding, with all of the trimmings, etc.

Which would you and your spouse choose and why?

Baby trees to all the guests? It would be to be planted in honor of us and the wrapping (comes in a tube kind of thing) would have our name and date and everything.
Do you think people will plant them?

of the co-workers, but I still consider them my friends and would like to invite them to my wedding. Problem is I dont want them to think I only invited them so I could get a gift from them, cuz I dont even care about the gifts and I already have everything I need. If you were to receive an invitation in these circumstances what would you think?

make an announcement at my wedding congratulating them. Is that proper? I ask because I know of several other couples who will be celebrating their anniversaries around that time and I don't want anyone to feel left out or whatever. My cousin is my mother's age so we're not close. I don't have a problem with it, but I'm trying to figure out where can I include the announcemnt in the reception. SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY!
