I am planning to get married but my fiance is Canadian so we will have an influx of about 30 to forty canucks.
I am thinking we forget taking a honeymoon and just hang out in our town with all our friends instead - do you have any other tips?

I was in a similar situation. We skipped the honeymoon, instead went on vacation a few months later. It was a tiring couple of days, but really fun! You may want to check if the Canadians are just going to stay in your town, or if some will travel around to other US cities as well. Do hotel, entertainment, etc. research for them so they can start planning their whole trip out.

Have your overseas family and friends come in a few days early, so that you will be able to spend some time with them. Then take your honeymoon as planned. Believe me they will understand.

Block off rooms so they can all stay in the same hotel or better yet if there is a little inn they can take over.

Information packets, how to get around, local attractions

Yes who ever said have them come early! Great idea

Find out what they want to do and see.

you can hang with family and friends in the days leading up to the wedding, and maybe host a brunch the day after. you don't necessarily have to skip out on a honeymoon.
