I am a photographer in Dallas, Texas and I am wondering how most of you brides out there have found your photographers and other key vendors. What sources were the most important to you? Which online and magazines/free publications did you trust more when looking at vendors? Thanks for the imput and good luck on your upcoming wedding!!!

I am recently engaged. My fiance and I are not at all religious.

The typical place to get married is a church, but that seems kind of silly given that neither of us practice the faith.

On the other hand, getting married in the courthouse seems a little too utilitarian, too spartan.

So what's a good secular way to get married that is also classy, romantic and memorable?

The deal is... I tend to get on better with men than with women. I don't exactly have a lot of female friends. What should I do about bridesmaids? I have three sisters in law should I just pick them? What about Maid of Honour? I'm not close to any of them. My H2B is having his brothers and my brother as groomsmen and best man so there are no shortage of male attendants but I feel like everyone will be looking at me like I'm a Billy No Mates coz I don't have female friends to be in the ceremony.

....and she said that she is not going to hold back, she is totally going to break out all the "naughty" stuff, so she said that I can choose who is invited to this so that i am not totally imbarrassed. I don't know what to do because I am very close to my future mother-in-law, who is also paying for the entire wedding, and I'm affraid that it would offend her if I didn't invite her, but I would be totally embarrassed if she came. It would be my prefference to just invite a few of my close friends... What should I do?

she was a "one stop wedding shop". If a planning company offered you cakes, invitations, limo services, and photography services included in their packages, would you hire them, or would you rather find your own vendors?

One of the things I was stressed the most about when planning my wedding was all of the different people to deal with, different places to go, etc.... I thought it would have been nice to have one phone call to make, and everything could be handled just from communicating to this one person, and 1 company.

What do you think? I am considering starting up something like this, but I want to see if people would use the service.

At a wedding, when it comes to the bridesmaids, is it really that unheard of or bad to wear your hair down? (i.e.: hair straight and parted or swept to the side.)

I know you're supposed to wear your wedding and engagement ring on you left hand...but it makes me really uncomfortable to wear any ring on my left hand. Would it be really so terrible if I wore them on my right hand?

It's light pink, with black polka dots. It's got a halter type sleeves. There is a black bow tied around the waist with the bow at the back. The bottom has some crinoline so the skirt flares out a bit and the skirt goes a little past the knees. Is it appropriate for a summer wedding?

I asked my closest girlfriend to be my maid of honor. She said she'd have an answer soon...it's been like 36 weeks! I understand she has to check with work and lives a couple of hours away...Is this too long to respond? I figure she'd say YES in a second.. What do you think? Ask someone else or wait a little longer...of course I know I probably should ask her again,,,or should I?

My sister is getting married in August 2007 and I am supposed to be the matron of honor. She is 40 and lives across the country from me. I have a family (5 of us) and I am the only one attending because money is tight now. She has not offered to pay for anything. Now, she has chosen a dress for the bridesmaids and me and it is so ugly. I hate it. I told her so also. She is very upset with me. I am not doing anything at all for her for the wedding except for showing up the day before and standing up for her. I will be leaving the day after the wedding. We have always been very close, but this is tearing us apart. I think I am wrong to be upset, but I can't help it. It is like I am expected to drop everything and pay for everything. I don't know what to do. She has her 2 sisters-in-law (well almost) in the same town and they are doing all the usual wedding stuff together. Should I just bow out? Help.

My sister's boyfriend just told me that is going to propose to my sister tomorrow, and showed me the ring to make sure that she would like it. It is absolutely gorgeous, of course. They're not getting married for two years (because they want me to be 21 before they get married and they want to get a house first), but what are my responsibilities as a maid of honor? I am so excited and was just wondering what I am supposed to do first!
