We have been together for 15 months and I really want to get him a ring befor the ring he will get on our wedding day. I want a white gold or silver because he hates gold. So what should I do?

I got my husband a silver band with a Celtic knot pattern on it as his engagement ring and he really loved it. He wore it on his left hand until we got married and now he wears it on his right hand. He was glad I got it for him because it gave him a chance to get used to wearing something on his hands (he doesn't wear jewelry)

These sites have some nice rings:

Have you looked at the new titanium rings? Is this something you want him to wear with his wedding band? Or wear on the other hand? That's some things you should think about to help you pick out the style and size of the ring.

Contact the arts department of your local university for advice on a jeweler - or the local crafts guild etc. to have one custom designed (with his input!!!) for him.

It'll cost a little more than a conventional ring but it'll be a one-of-a kind. Very special.

And I'm serious about his input. Indeed, ask him if he even WANTS an engagement ring.

Maybe he would rather have a plasma TV. You have to ask.

A wedding ring is a wedding ring, as long as it's not cheap and doesn't turn your finger colors you are ok.

If he is constantly working get him a ring that fits good to his finger. If he is more laid back get him something that is a bit showy. Take his interests into mind though.

P.S. Get the inside engraved, he may not always show it but he will love it.
