I was talking to my friend the other day, and she asked if my boyfriend and i were going to get married, and i replied someday. Then in a kind of half joke i told her i would want it to be outdoors and have a pig roast bbq catered type event. She told me that it was trashy. I really liked the idea because i am a simple girl. I love to be casual , and dont really feel the need to have everyone get dressed up and be uncomforitable. My idea would be to have everyone come casual, and basically enjoy the music atmosphere, food, and drinks.
Do you think that would be trashy?

Okay I have a huge dilemma. My sister was scheduled for a C-section on May 11 of this year but had it done a day early. My wedding is scheduled for May 10, 2008. Which means, he will turn 1 on my wedding day which happens to be a Saturday. And she always plans the kids birthday parties for Saturdays. Should I reschedule my wedding or ask her to have the party another day? I love my sister and my nephew so I don't want to cause any kind of rift in the family. But she knew we had already started planning the wedding when she decided to go a day early. I don't want to be selfish but I really want to keep my wedding date. I need some advice!!

I am not able to go (it is an out of town wedding) and I have already told my male coworker (the groom) that I'm not going. The wedding is on May 26th. Should I still send back the invite replying 'no' even though it is late?

I am going to propose to my girlfriend. I know what wedding ring she's wanted forever, but I have no idea what to look for in an engagement ring. I want to propose on my knee with the little box...the whole 9, but I don't want to pick something she really won't like.

She doesn't wear any other rings so that won't work. Her Mom and best friend have no idea what size she wears. I really don't want to tip her off in the slightest bit. I heard about getting it resized but does this damage the look of the ring?

I'm getting married in a few weeks and my fiance and I both agree that we want to draw up a prenuptual. It would be a simple document. I own the house we live in, we have no children together and never will and our savings are minimal. I certainly don't want to pay a solicitor to draw this up for me as its so straightforward. If we divorce, he has no claim on my house and we each keep what possesions and savings we had going into the marriage. I've found websites where you can download a form but it still costs money. I know that drawing this up ourselves will not be legally binding, but I've been led to believe that NO prunuptial agreements are legally binding in England anyway, its up to the divorce judge to decide if it should stand.

My boyfriend and I have been going out for almost 3 years now and we've talked about getting married. He just graduated from college and has begun working full time. I don't graduate for another year and a half. I am ready to settle down and begin the next part of my life. I don't really have the nerve to talk to my boyfriend about it. All of my friends are getting married and it seems like everyone is pregnant. I feel that I am ready to get married and start a family. WHAT SHOULD I DO???

My partner and I are getting married next year in a catholic church. I am catholic and he was brought up protestant though having being baptised in a catholic church. Thanks to peoples answers on here I now know that as he is baptised catholic he is basically catholic just not church going. He received no protestant sacraments. What my question is that as he has only received the sacrament of baptism in the catholic church does he have to have the other sacraments (communion and confirmation) before he can get married in the catholic church. We would like to have a catholic wedding. Our daughter was christened catholic also. We have discussed this and (only if he really has to) is willing to have these sacraments if this is the only way for us to have our catholic wedding. A protestant wedding is really out of the question as he was never baptised into the church. To be honest, a bad decistion on behalf of his parents. Baptised into one religion and raised another. Unfair on the child

He winks at me quite a bit. He rubs up against me and tells me jokes. He even joked about a candlelight dinner. I just don't know if I should push this subject because I am dating someone else right now (married man) or do I give this other man a shot(not married).

hello, I am currently looking for the perfect ring. I am getting a cz engagement ring because in a couple years we are planning to buy a new, bigger house and i would rather put the money towards that than an expensive ring. I wil be the only one who knows it is fake, so who cares?
I would like some opinions on a carat size for the ring. I have chosen a princess cut, white gold with 3 small stones on each side of the band. I do not want something big and flashy. I am torn between getting a 1ct or a .75ct center stone. Money is no object obviously because it is a cz. We both make good/decent money, but I don't want a ring that looks like it costs a ridiculous amount of money. Don't get me wrong I do want a noticible ring, but nothing too much. The side stones equal .75ct alone.
Opinions please, 1ct center stone or .75??
Thanks so much.....

I decided to let each girl choose her own dress. I chose the Apple Red color from David's Bridal. I have three girls in the wedding. One chose a tea-length dress. I'm thinking she'd look best placed in the middle. I am considering having them all wear elbow length gloves as a way to tie them all together. Is it a good idea to have all the accessories match, or go with whatever suits their individual style?

Hi, I am wondering if I should throw a party for my friend that is getting married. We all live across the country and I know she is not going to be planning on having this event. (I am a bridesmaid).

We are from the same city and a lot of our friends live there still. (neither of us live there anymore, but can get there) I was thinking about doing a small party for her, but My question is, can I invite our old co workers to this party even though they were not sent invites to the wedding? I dont know if i would technically call it a "shower" or "Bachelorette Party", I would like to just get all the girls together and celebrate.
I would not even expect them to all bring gifts if they didnt want to ... what do you think??

I have been to bachelorette parties before, and have not been invited to the wedding, and I was not offended.... any opinions or advice?

I would just like to do something nice for her. :)

My fiancee and I have been engaged for almost 4 years and the wedding is more than a year away, yet after all these years her parents are not treating us or the occasion with excitement. They keep telling her to wait longer. She is 22 and fairly young. It breaks my heart the way her parents just blow off her pleas for help at planning the wedding. Maybe we should elope? She doesn't want to do that because she wants their support. Her parents do like me but I think that they believe she can do better. What do we do?
