It all depends if there are children involved, property, and belongings. If none of these are a factor then you just need to file.
If there are children then you have to decide who gets custody, and how arrange visitation, also medical care, and child support. If its only one child then its 20% of what you make, any more its 17.5%.
If there is property owned by both then it has to be divided or sold then the money is split between both. Any personal belongings go to who ever owns them.

A divorce usually starts at $1000.00 non-contested,and it can go higher depending what you are fighting for; there is usually a $500.00 retainer fee.
