You go get it together.
I went and bought my husband's ring...and he hated it, lol. So we went back together and got what he liked better....and I paid for it.
I don't think it really matters WHO pays for it. The two of you are about to get married and completely share finances....so who is paying for the ring really isn't an issue....especially since the majority of men just want bands, they aren't very expensive.
And Congratulations on the upcoming wedding!

My husband picked his out (I went with him and had approval) but I paid for it. This is a ring that he will wear hopefully everyday for the rest of his life. He should get something that is comfortable.
We also went together when "he" picked out my wedding ring but I'm the one who approved it.

Typically, I am going to assume most men get to pick out their own wedding band. My fiance and I went together to pick out our wedding bands. They arn't matching ones or anything like that, but we love our bands and we're happy that we both went together to pick them out. He paid for my rings, and I paid for his. I gave some imput on his ring, but it was his decision after all. But we did like the same ring, so it worked out well. My ring was my choice as well, he said they were all 'nice', lol. MEN! grrr, :P ... Good luck :)

At first he wanted to pick his ring out then I would pay for it, but I also saw a ring that matched my ring and he liked it! If you would want to pay for it you can, I have heard of the brides parents also paying for it as a blessing to the marriage!

My fiance and I just went together to go pick out his ring. Since the surprise of him proposing is over, it's ok to do it together. It's fun! Congrats!!

The bride traditionally is supposed to pick it out and purchase it, but lately, most brides have had the groom choose the ring. Either way, the bride shouold pay for the ring.
Some officiants, in the ceremony, will ask you to "place the ring that you have chosen for your husband on his finger"

Usually the couple goes together to pick out wedding bands. He should pick his, and you should pick yours. Some couples like to match, and some don't.

Probably best to talk to him about it. Some guys like things really simple, others, more fancy; some like white gold others yellow or platnum. Also since the need for surprise is gone, save yourselves some money and get one that is properly sized to his hand.
Cheers and congratulations!

You BOTH pick it out, with extreme emphasis on HIS choice, and whoever can afford it buys it.
