I am wondering what are some "sneaky" things that some vendors pull on the party. I have heard some things as of late. I just want to have a better idea of what questions to ask and what to look for as well as any other helpful advice when trying to find a place to hold a wedding reception.

My sister got married in the courthouse 4 years ago without any kind of celebration. I just had a traditional Church Wedding a few months ago(which my husband and i paid for) and now she has decided to renew her vows. She is going to pretty much have the Church Wedding she never had. Which she should have done from the beginning. We are all happy for her but very frustrated too. She is expecting all the parents to pay for the whole celebration. She also wants a Bridal Shower. Being that she is already married i think her and her husband should be responsible to pay for the whole thing. I'm very confused? Her husband even helped her pick out her wedding gown. Now I am planning her shower but wondering if I am doing the right thing?

my dad is getting married again (second wedding) next month and my sister and I and our 2 soon-to-be stepsisters are standing up for the wedding. the problem is we all can get different dresses but the choices are everyone gets cranberry or everyone gets black. the only way we can get the same color cranberry dress is from bridal stores for $150 but my dad doesnt want to spend that much and his fiances daughters and the bride really want that color. my dad and my sister and I want black so everyone can get a dress we can wear again and we would all have a closer color match and it would be cheaper. what do you think? the idea of 2 wearing black and 2 wearing cranberry isnt an option.

And ill rpobably have her boquet a little different then the others. Also....PROBLEM but my fiances sister wanted to be in the wedding which she should. Shes 12 years old and i didnt really want her as a Jr bridesmaid i already had 5 girls 5 guys ya know so i said screw it ill have a 12 year old flower girl shes still little lol. Well i guess she kind of gets buthurt cause shes not a bridesmaids whuch i think is stupid dont be stubborn ya know.....well so when all us girls went to look and buy their dresses guess what. SHE is in the same dress as the bridesmaids. What do you think about this and what can i do to make her look a littel bit different and girlie WITH the same dress!?!?

I have always loooved planning weddings, and themed events. I'm just wondering how to turn my hobby into a profession. Is there a college course, or is it just who you know in the industry. At the very least, where can I research this?

My mom is having a hard time deciding what to wear. She was leaning more towards a nice pants suit so she feels more comftorable, than she was also trying on dresses. She was gonna wear like black pants with tea rose pink shirt(same color as my bridesmaids dresses) than she tried on an offwhite suit and she thinks it looks more elegant and likes it i know it. Who knows what shes ultamately gonna get but weve said well in the black and pink we dont want you to look too much like a groomsman in black and pink not a tearose pink dress cause you'll look like a bridesmaids, and off white is simular to me in white the bride lol. Is it weird for my mom to be in off white or no? Its not a huge deal to me i just dont want others to think its weird. Is there anything inbetween? Help!

i'm getting married in September and having my best friend, my flat mate, as my only bridesmaid. I haven't got anyone else close to me, i'm not particularly close to family so would only, by choice, have 1 bridesmaid. However, my mother is dead against this and is saying i have to have more than 1. Apparently i have alienated my family (even though me and my cousins have lived in different cities and grown apart over time, which i didn't think was all my fault) and that i should feel bad for not having any of my cousins as bridesmaids. Can anyone tell me what is so bad about just having 1 bridesmaid? Anyone i ask now would be purely to pacify Mum and not becos i want them. Also feel guilty cos she and my stepfather are funding almost the entirity of the wedding as we're getting wed sooner than we thought cos we have to move abroad, and it wont just be pennies. In a dilemma as don't want to offend Mum but don't want another BM just for the sake of having nicer photos!

he tells me he wants to marry me. but he doesn't get that an engagment isn't marraig. i want a long engadgment but he think once your engagded then you get marraid right after. and of course he is afraid of marraig like all guys. but he says we will always be together. we have been for 3 years already. i want a two year engagdement. what to do. plus he says all the time what kind of ring he want. and he already has my diamond just not the band yet. what to do?

I'm planning a bachelorette party. Please give me ideas for games and fun besides a stripper and a scavenger hunt. The bride likes to party and has a small wild side. Thanks!

ALSO, cool websites would help!

I know traditionally, the best man foots the bill for the night. However, I'm probably going to make this one for the books and have all of our close guy friends go away for a long weekend. It's going to be expensive enough to cover myself as I am getting married 2 months before. My question is if it's ok to get him to cover his airfare/hotel/food and I pay for all drinks, etc. Or should the other guys all have to throw in an extra $50 to $100 on top of their trip to cover him. I want this to be awesome, but I don't want people complaining about money (even though I know they will).

We also talked about doing a double bachelor party for our weddings (obviously we'd each pay our way then), but I am expected to pay if it's just a single party for him.

btw - i don't want to hear any stuff about checking with our fiances. They are both OK with it and mine is ok with me going away shortly after we are married.... :)

Thanks!

I am including in my wedding programs the names of the officiant, maid of honor, best man, ushers, guestbook attendants, etc. His parents are not invited to our wedding as he is not on good terms with them. Should I list my parents in the program or leave that part out all together. Any other sugestions of what I should include?

I have been with my boyfriend for 5 years now and I love him very much, he loves me very much. We have lived together since june of 2005 and now live in a nice house his parents bought for us in a different state. We both talk about getting married after we graduate in 2009. When should we get engaged? I love to plan, and have so much time to. I always have people asking me, why arnet ya'll married yet? As to which I reply, I'm only 20! Even though it has been a while. I wish soo bad he would propose this V-day (its our anniversary too).

Okay - my boyfriend's brother is getting married next month - and I have been invited to all 3 showers for his fiance. My question is - do I get her something off of her registry and then also get a wedding gift?

I'm going to the Bachelorette Party as well and didn't know if I am supposed to bring something to that??

My wedding will take place in my home and have no more than fifty guests. Instead of ushers, would it be appropriate to have two girls (ages 12 and 13) direct the guests to a seat? I'm trying to find a role for them in my wedding and I don't yet have ushers.
