Do you have any regrets about doing it this way? I am considering just going to Hawaii and getting married on the beach with my sweetie... I wish friends and family could come... but no one will really be able to. I would prefer a simple deal... and I like the idea of a sunset beach ceremony. We've been together for a long time and I've just never been into the whole big wedding thing anyway. What do you think?

How much did your wedding cost?
Did you and your spouse pay for all of it or did your parents help?
If you had to do it over would you pay for it differently or wait?
Did you have to take out a freakin loan for it?

I just found on line where the average wedding in the USA costs between $20,000 and $30,000....it's depressing.

Its a Catholic Church.
If you have any links to pictures that'd be great.
Also, how many pews do you decorate, the church is huge?

I am Manila based and planning to get married in Virginia because of my FH. It is hard enough to plan a wedding, much more to plan overseas. Please, if you have any catering contacts in Virginia, I would gladly appreaciate it.

My fiance and I will be marrying in my home church (Baptist). What exactly is discussed/asked during premarital counseling (specifically for a Baptist Church)? How does this process generally work? I am worried about being asked too personal questions and even more worried that we won't be allowed to marry in my church since we do live together. How do i go about this? I guess i just need someone to tell me how it all works and if ill run into problems/being judged, etc. for our living arrangements. Any help would be greatly appreciated...no rude comments please. I just need to figure all this stuff out. Im a little worried about the whole process. thank you!

I'm trying to cut down my wedding list but I put +1 for lots of people but some of them, i'd prefer if they didn't bring a guest. I was planning on writing the invitations out to Mr Smith and Guest but would it be ok to not write "and guest". Besides won't the RSVP have a space for them to write how many will be attending?

There is this woman that I really like who works at the bank that I go to. I truly think that she is really pretty with a beautiful smile. I noticed that she isnt married or enagaged bc there was no ring on her finger at all. I know banktellers are supposed to be nice to all customers. She sometimes works as a teller or at the drive thru window. How can i find out if she is single? and what is the best way of getting her to notice me? Should i write her a note? bc the other teller could be listening to my convo with her if no one is there. What is the best thing thing i should do or how should i ask her out? thanks again.

An acquaintance is planning a wedding with an all-vegan reception. Both she and her fiance are vegans, but there's some concern over accomodating people who want meat.

What is the perfect thing to say to people insisting on meat at the reception?

What would you suggest as a good gift for Groom's Men? I guess they get a gift for participating, and I don't want to spend a whole lot. However, I'd like to get them something good that they might like. I am at a loss for good ideas. Some people say to get a flask, or beer mug. I don't want to get them something to sit in a corner and not be remembered. Any suggestions to buy them, that would make me look like a good remembered thoughtful guy?

Or do these have to be seperate? Our parents have not met yet eachother (although we're excited about it because we think theyll really hit it off).. I was thinking just a dinner at a nice restaurant with just our familys and MAYBE a couple close friends like my maid of honor and his best man? An engagement "party" is not likely so could this work? Or do I need to let the inlaws meet before bringing everyone together? My wedding isnt for over a year but we are engaged so I figure we may want to have an engagement thing sometime in the near future! Thanks for your input!

I took it from 250 to 222 people but its getting hard for me to do further cuts to get to 200. I'm planning on doing RSVP. On average, how many people said no to your wedding?

Ps. I added a +1 for every guest for a date and added children for those who have children.

Im sending out Enclosure cards with my Save the Date cards. So far I've included Hotel information, airline information, rental car information, and a map of the area where some hotels are and where my wedding/reception will be.....

I still have some room left on the enclosure card (I'm making them myself). What other information do you think would be helpful for out of town guests....

P.S. The wedding is in Calgary, if you have any specific ideas...

My sister/best friend has a boyfriend of 5 years who she shares 2 children with. They have been engaged for 2 years. I stayed with her over xmas & they started arguing in front of me. She wants to get married to him asap & would like a small ceremony, she showed me her plans & I think what she wants is not unresonable. However her partner wants to get married in a courthouse & have a b.b.q. after. They do not have much money & have just bought a house. Our mother offered to pay for the wedding but my sisters partner refuses. He thinks a ceremony is just an expensive show for everyone else & if they really love each other it is not necessary, She thinks it is a public celebration of their love & commitment to each other. I also think she feels pressured because our family is deeply religious & she knows both our parents disapprove of sex/children before marriage. They have both asked me for my opinion- But I think they are both right. How can I suggest a compromise?

My fiance and I are having a destination wedding where there's a block of hotel rooms being held for everyone we know is coming. Inside of the invitation we are including the information of the hotel so that they are able to stay there as well. We just have no clue as to how much time is necessary for the guests to book the room (if needed) and respond back.
