The answer above is correct, if the place has a licence, you can, but so can everyone else. This is why Prince Charles didn't get married at Windsor Castle, because if they applied for a licence and got it, anyone else would then have had the right to get married there there that day.
I've had a little look, but can't find out how you would apply for this licence and how much it would cost.

The UK is very strict about where weddings can take place. & who can perform them. You need to call wherever you live & get the details. They may have A garden you can marry in, just not YOUR garden.
Sometimes they will allow you to petition the courts & they will give you a license so you can marry exactly where you'd like. Again, I suggest you call the ones in charge.

The General Register Office (GRO) publishes an on line guide to getting married. The website covers where you can get married, details on the residential and other legal requirements for marriage!

I can't see why not - I think you can get married absolutely anywhere as long as you ask, say please, and have someone to marry you, you're fine!
I think it'd be really nice to get married in a garden

I am afraid not as your house has to be registered and your house has to be opened to the public, This is the answer we were given when my daughter wanted to have her wedding there, so we just had the reception there instead. Sorry but have a nice wedding.and good luck

Well in the United States you can get married anywhere you want. All you have to do is have the proper documentation for your marriage. The documentation has to be signed with someone registered with the local government.
That doen't help does it? lol
