My mom is having a hard time deciding what to wear. She was leaning more towards a nice pants suit so she feels more comftorable, than she was also trying on dresses. She was gonna wear like black pants with tea rose pink shirt(same color as my bridesmaids dresses) than she tried on an offwhite suit and she thinks it looks more elegant and likes it i know it. Who knows what shes ultamately gonna get but weve said well in the black and pink we dont want you to look too much like a groomsman in black and pink not a tearose pink dress cause you'll look like a bridesmaids, and off white is simular to me in white the bride lol. Is it weird for my mom to be in off white or no? Its not a huge deal to me i just dont want others to think its weird. Is there anything inbetween? Help!

Champaign is the big color now and very very classy...if she is more comfy in pants they make some nice ones....try the net to look for mother of the bride, pant suits...really though, every one looks great in that color and it would blend with your color scheme...good luck...and also, don't stress or worry what other people think...it is your day...enjoy it.

My mom was in an off white dress, and the MoG was in an off white pant suit, the pants that look like a skirt cause they have the tule or whatever on top of a silk pant. They look good and they match, so I loved it.

My mom said the same thing about not wanting to look like the bridesmaids in the same color, and she didn't want to wear black.

Have a wonderful Wedding day, Many wedding blessings!

Hi,

If you do not mind your mother wearing off white, that is fine. If you mother does not mind, that is fine as well. But the rules are, nothing in white or off white as these are usually the main color of the wedding gown. How about a nice mauve, pink, or even burgundy gown?? As fabrics and color dye lots differ from maker to maker, chances are her dress will not pefectly match the bridesmaids.

They make pantsuits in these colors as well. If she likes the neutrals, she can go for silver, beige, cream, or champagne. Hope these tips help!

my mother in law wore off white - don't worry, know one is going to confuse your mother for the bride, lol. Chances are you are going to get guests who will wear cream colors, or black pants suits or even dresses in similar colors to the bridesmaids so don't worry about it to much. Incidently - my own mother wore the same color as the brides maids. Many MOB's intentionally wear a gown the same color but with a more mature cut in order to coordinate with the wedding colors so no one is going to think anything badly about it.

The off white pant suit sounds great ...if it were in another color. Anything worn to weddings in white to cream colors are seen as trying to upstage the bride. Keep looking, or have the suit dyed. Have a happy wedding.

She should not wear the same color as the bridesmaids, not should she wear pants. There are plenty of full-skirted dresses she could be comfortable in. As for a colour, she could wear something darker than off-white, like ivory, mocha, etc.

Maybe your mother could find the suit in another color. I think she should steer clear of white, off white, ecru, or anything that might resemble wedding colors.

Unless the wedding is this weekend, have her continue to look. These 2 outfits aren't the only ones out there.

OFF white is ok.

Did you ever watch Father of the Bride? The mom wore off white dress...........she looked stunning!
It is your day, but if your going to wear off white, maybe you can talk mom into a nice light pink, almost white dress?

I agree with all your points, but the off-white is most appropriate ino. In fact, she is the only one besides you and the groom for whom it IS appropriate to wear a shade of white. Plus she'll probably wear a punchy colored cami underneath and it is a pantsuit, not a dress, so she will not look like you.

I gave my mom permission to wear white and she only wore white pants with a colorful top. I specifically told my two MILS that they couldn't, and both bitches showed up in head to toe white! They looked like jackasses, but in the pictures, they didn't even stand out, bc they weren't wearing wedding dresses. Hope that helps! Pics in profile.

the fact that its a trouser suit makes it not so bad and symbolizes her importance i guess.. why not suggest other colours such as:

~ the tearose pink top with a rose beige or grey beige skirt suit? trouser suit might look to work wear
~ deep fuschia dress with a tearose pink cardigan or similar

have a lovely wedding :) try not to boss you mum about too much hehe! let her think its her idea lol x
