Technically you can have whatever number you want. You can have different numbers of bridesmaids and groomsmen (My husband was just in a wedding where there were 4 bridesmaids and 6 groomsmen). You can have 2 honor attendants if you want. My advice...just try to make it appropriate for the wedding you are having. Don't have 10 on each side with a total wedding attendance of 75. That would look silly.

You can have as many bridesmaids and groomsmen as you want however some people prefer that there is an equal amount of bridesmaids and groomsmen. I have been to weddings that have had as many as 9 attendants on each side and a couple of weddings were there were more than one maid of honor and best men. It's your special day so do what makes you happy! Congrats

Generally, the bride picks the maid (or matron) of honor and the bridemaids, and the groom picks the best man and groomsmen. There needs to be an even number, though.
You can have as many as fits the style and size of your wedding.
A wedding with two hundred guests can support 5 or 10 bridemaids, while a wedding of only 20 or 30 guests would be best with just a maid of honor, or maybe one other bridemaids.
Hope this helps...

Traditionally there is only one best man and one maid or matron of honor. You can have as many bridesmaids and groomsmen as you wish, but I wouldn't ask too many. Not only is it very hard to manage so many gowns, hairstyles, make-up and personalities, but I think it lessens the "specialness" of being asked. I think I would feel a little more honored if the bride asked me and 3 other girls, than me and 10 of her closest friends. It also tends to look a little ridiculous in photos when there are 20 people in the wedding party. Think carefully about who you choose and why you are choosing them.

You can have whatever you want ~ it's your wedding. All I have is 1 Matron of Honor and no Bridesmaids at all. My fiance, has a Best Man and the Ushers, are our sons. No Groomsmen. We also have 1 Flower Girl and 1 Ring Bearer.

Whatever works for you. I'm having a really small wedding and aren't even bothering with the whole wedding party thing. It's my wedding and it's what I want. So if you want 8 bridesmaids, a maid of honor and a man of honor, your fiance having the same...go crazy. It's your day. Just remember the extra expenses involved with a large party...

you can have as many bridesmaids and groomsmen as you like. However, traditionally, there is only 1 maid of honor and one best man.

You can have as many bridesmaids as you want. But by the time there are eight or more, the bride starts to look pretty silly.
Rather than worrying about the number, just ask people that you really want to have as bridesmaids, and whom you think would be really excited to be your bridesmaids. When in doubt, have fewer. Otherwise, you can run into the "why am I the only cousin who wasn't asked?" problem.
