My husband and I are getting ready to write thank you cards for our wedding presents. One of the gifts we recieved was a check from a relative. We deposited it into our account a month and a half after our wedding, due to certain circumstances. We recieved notice a week later from the bank stating that the check had bounced. I know that the relative is not wealthy, but had also wanted to give us a nice gift. We did not contact them to let them know it bounced, as we had presumed their bank would notify them. However, we have yet to hear back or recieve anything from them (it's been two months since). What would you suggest to do? and how would you write a thank you note for this one??

My fiance and are are getting married the problem is his mother and father are divorced. His father is remarried and has been for a long time. My fiance just recently started speeking with his father and his wife. How would we go about introducing them at the wedding reception because even though she is step-mother it would offend his real mother if she was intorduced as his mother but would it sound tacky if she was introduced as step mom?

Wedding Desserts!? Help!?
My friend is getting married in the morning and is giving a reception in the night:

She is having a cake and is deciding if she should serve anything else as a dessert along with the cake

She is thinking of setting a round table and having the cake as the center pieces (of course) and have trays of fruit like chocolate covered strawberries and raspberries. Also little bites of caramel covered apples and cookies

But the thing is since the wedding is the in morning and the reception at night so there’s going to be a wedding lunch and she is serving fruit kabobs... so is that a good idea to the chocoalte and caramel covered fruit at the reception?...or is that to much fruit in one day?
If not...what else should she do?
If yes what others things should she try severing?

Am proposing to my girlfriend and don't have any ideas. I want to surprise her and do something tasteful, but different. I'd like to hear from both the girls and guys on this one. Guys, how did you propose? Girls, how would you want to be proposed to?

My boyfriend & I were talking about how we want to get married, & about having an outside wedding. When he casually mentioned this to his parents, his mom said 'well I wouldn't go'. Reason being they are very catholic & traditional. Shortly after this my boyfriend decided that he wanted our wedding to be recognized by the catholic church, in which apparently you have to get married inside a church or else get special permission. I dont want to get married in a church, I am not religious at all, I dont believe in god. I was fine with incorporating catholic aspects into the ceremony but I am not comfortable with it being completely catholic because that is not who I am. To top things off when he talked about it with his parents another time when he was inquiring as to whether you are allowed to be married outside of a church, his mom said to him 'dont worry we'll make it so that [i'm]comfortable' having it in a church.I really dont think its her place to say that, what do you guys think?

I found a picture of these incredible shoes I want to use for my wedding, but I don't know who the designer is or where I can buy them.

Here is the link to the picture:

If anyone knows where I can find them, please, please let me know ASAP. It's urgent because I am getting married in one month!

Thanks!

Our 20 month old son(who loves the outdoors) is our ring bearer, to our outdoor ceremony, any ideas to keep him down the aisle and stay put during the ceremony so he doesn't run around on the grass? our mothers will be in front, is it ok for him to sit on one of their laps?

I personally think that it is a waste of $20,000 hard earn cash. Also, there is a 50/50 chance that the newly wed will end in divorce. What you say?

My husband and I are talking about having a huge wedding for our 10th anniversary (in 3 years) because we did not have a ceremony the first time. Would it be bad to wear a red dress ( it is so beautiful) at a church ceremony???? Some people like the idea and the ones who are against it are real against it

What kind of cake did ou have/will you have at your wedding? What was the flavor, toppings, decorations?

If you had a filled cake, why did you choose that over unfilled (and vice versa).

Also- on a long shot, has anyone on here had any type of ethnic cake? On specific to your culture?

Just trying to get some ideas

I got engaged earlier last month...I'm trying to plan a wedding without all of the "required" information.

~We cannot decide on exact date because he's in the military and doesn't know if or when he's getting deployed because he's on his way to a new assignment. (We're hoping for sometime between March and May.)

~We haven't decided on a location because his family lives in Delaware, mine lives in Arizona and I live in Florida.

~We can't decide on a guest list until we figure out where the wedding is going to be.

~And let's not forget the budget...We have a vague idea of what we want but we have NO idea what it's going to cost us or how to find out.

I've signed up for accounts with brides.com and theknot.com and both of them say if I'm planning to get married within the next year I need to start planning NOW! The only price estimates I have seen them use is the $-$$$$$ system. What is one $ or $$$$$equal to?

Without knowing anything....where do I start?
