I got married at 20, and we are still married. I am 25 now. I've grown up in a hurry, but thats ok. I have a good job, but the pay sucks. He is going to school, he is 27. We have no children yet either. We are responsible enough to understand that babies cost more than we make right now. LOL!!! Take your time though, it hasn't been all roses either. The younger you marry the harder the marriage is it seems. If I could change things now, I think I would choose to get married "older" because, maybe I would have had a better job by then, or who knows. All I know, is Marriage isn't something to be taking lightly, unless you are into the Hollywood style weddings that don't usually last, then If it is for real, then, take your time, try to get somewhere, first, then you won't ever have to wonder, hummm, what would it had been like living on my own, because maybe things aren't going like you had anticipated in the fantasy world Walt Disney paints when creating children's films as Alladin, Lino King, Cinderella, Snow White, etc..,, Interesting thing is that all these movies have common factors, there is the Royalty, and the poor, valling in love and living happily ever after.... Well, That would be great, but lets face it, not every man is royalty, and therefore it would be morally wrong to marry for riches. Not too sure where I was going with this, but it was interesting. I have a feeling this is probably way more information then you were asking for, but feel free to email me. If you have further questions.

The common age to get married should be 30, but it is 20 to 25. If you marry before 30, then how will you ever know you did everything you dreamed of as a child?

I would say the median age to be 30years. By this time, both parties should have had the opportunity to experience all that llife has to offer, and to now move forward and experience being married. Age should not be the determining factor - when LOVE is in the AIR! I don't have a clue. However, I'm 57 and he's 61 years old, [he's a senior citizen]. We have both met our "soul mate" in each other. We plan on getting married by a Justice of the Peace, this month of AUGUST 2006. Because neither he or I have any extra money for a fancy celebration. Just a plain old standard ceremony. This is his 2nd marriage and it will be my 3rd.

The timing of marriage has fluctuated over the past century. In 1995 the median age of women in the United States at the time of their first marriage was 25. The median age of men was about 27. Men and women in the United States marry for the first time an average of five years later than people did in the 1950s.

Well back in the day, the common age was as young as 15. Nowadays people get married in their late 20's, even 30's, 40's etc. But only you will know when your time comes to enter this very serious relationship called 'marriage'.
