Wow!!! Good luck with your speech! I will be giving a speech for my sister's wedding about 2 weeks after that. She and I have been close, but I don't exactly support this marriage. She won't take "no" as an answer for me being her "matron of honor" though. So, I will be giving a speech too! YOU BET I will bring up an inside joke between her and I...at least it will keep her from crying. She is a very sensitive person, and when she gave her speech at MY wedding, she cried through the whole thing. I don't want to do that; so, I'm going to keep it light-hearted and...I think the inside joke is a PERFECT way to end the speech!

First inside jokes that only a few or 1 or two no aren't very nice to the ones who don't know it.I suggest talking about a special memory you have of you and your sister. Then say something like in the many years and trials ahead that both bride and groom are now to face as husband and wife their will be tears, strugggles, and fights always remember how much you love each other so lets raise our glasses for a toast to the bride and groom.Hope that helps.

First of all congrats!!! You want to find a quiet spot and be honest about your sister. You can talk about funny situations but not too embarassing ones. You can start of by saying "Wow Ann, I can't believe that you are getting married. You are so special to me, remember the time _________ that was too funny. You have been there for me through the rough times, and you are truly my best friend. Congrats to you and Frank on your special day" something like that. Just be honest and it will flow on paper. Good Luck.

My sis just got married too...
First of all congratulations!
secound... Well l'd advice you to write something that tells on her good personality use a lil humor maybe a funny experience youv'e had. You can put a priv. joke that only she will understand but try not to put too many of this since no one else will laugh...
And yes wish her good luck and a lot of happiness.
Good luck to you too!

Get this book called "Words for the Wedding". It may be in your local library, but if not, there's always Amazon. We got it for quotes for our ceremony, but it's an incredible resource for all kinds of wedding-related words.
Good luck!

I suggest going to the following website because they have tons of suggestions for toasts:

As for the inside joke, obviously not every one is going to get it but if it's in good taste and you don't think your sister will mind, go ahead.

Be honest and heart felt. Talk about them and how it has affected you. Do they inspire you. Make it warm and fuzzy. Be yourself and most of all have fun.
