The only thing you should be worried about is whether or not his side is bringing anyone who wasn't invited or hasn't RSVP'ed. You need to ensure that you have enough space and have enough food/drinks for everyone. If they were not specifically invited, they should not be coming.

On the gift question, the point of a wedding is to celebrate with your friends and loved ones. A gift is not required. If you get one, that's great, but attendance at a wedding is a request for celebration, not a demand for a gift. Best Wishes.

Traditionally gifts are expected/required at American weddings (and Italian ones too). If someone shows up, they are expected to bring a gift. Make sure your husband is clear with his friends on how many people they are bringing. It is extremely rude to crash a wedding. I have never heard of hispanic people not bringing gifts. I know a lot of them.

First, "a lot" is two words and you should worry a bit more about your grammar than you do about cleaning up at your wedding. Weddings are nos supposed to be gift bonanzas where you clean-up and get tons of stuff. Weddings are celebrations of family and friends, and hope and the future. Stop being so materialistic.

that is a really bad generalization.......and by the way, a reception is to bring people together to share and celebrate your wedding......not to pick up gifts......
talk to your fiancee about it.......
