I wore a red wedding dress myself.
Of course I didn't let anyone see it with the exception of some bridesmaids that were at the hotel I went to to get dressed. ( we had a beautiful wedding in our own backyard ).
My husband was ,at the very least just plain shocked, in a good way, he couldn't keep his eyes off of me, and at one point even started crying. Of course that brought tears to MY eyes!!!
It doesn't matter if it's in a backyard or a church. God doesn't care what color dress you wear. And to be honest with you, it's no one Else's business. It's YOUR wedding! I wouldn't even ask anyone else what they thought! It's not their opinion that counts.
I'm sure that you will dazzle your husband ! And, isn't that why we go to such extremes to find that "perfect dress"?
You go for it girl !!! Congratulations and best wishes !
Make it a night to remember !!!

Well, you wouldn't be having a "wedding" at your 10th, but just a party, eh? Then, there is nothing wrong with wearing a red dress, as long as you weren't thinking of a "wedding dress". I'm assuming the church ceremony will be a renewal of your vows? How could this be if you said you didn't have a ceremony the first time? Are you really married?

Red actually sounds completely appropriate for your 10th anniversary vow renewal (If that's what you would like to call it) Having a white dress at your original marriage ceremony is to symbolize your virginity. Now.. since you've been married for 7 years, I think the best educated guess is that you've already had sex. Wear the color you want. Red is the color for passion, something that you must have for your husband. Goodluck and go for it.

Red at a wedding, fine, but maybe not at a church. If it were any other color, I wouldn't think anyone would object. However, run it by the pastor, they are doing a renewal of vows, so it might not matter. In the end, it has to be what you want, but try to be respectful of the church's policies.

Who cares what everyone else thinks. If you and your husband agree on the red dress then wear it. My husband and I was re-newing our vows next year, I'm thinking of wearing a pink wedding dress.
Good Luck! Congrats on being married that long.

The symbolism of the white wedding dress is claiming that you're still a virgin (which I would guess is actually true for less than 10% of brides). After 10 years, no-one is expecting you to still be a virgin (in fact if you were, it would be grounds for anullment in many places). So I'd say wear any color you like other than white (except black, which is for funerals). I'd say red was an excellent choice. So go for it!
For what it's worth, at traditional Chinese weddings, the bride always wears red, at to them it's the color of life.

We renewed our wedding vows for our 11th anniversary. I wore a gorgeous red gown and I looked good. The ones that are against it will just have to get over it. I'm sure you'll look fabulous. The link below has a bunch of links to red gowns, just scroll down to see the links.

i think that if you were not already married it would be a little out of the norm which in some cases wouldnt be bad but in this case , i think you should wear the dress that you want and the red dress sounds lovely. i wish i could wear red, the color just washes me out so i cant wear it .... happy wedding...

I say to each his own. Its your wedding and you should do what you want to do. This is for you and your husband not everyone else. I don't think it matters wether the dress is red, black, green or white, if you are doing this to show your love for one another then do what makes you both happy. Best of luck.

Red is happy, passionate. It's a color that should be celebrated. Tell the church goers that are against it that God created nature and nature includes flowers of all colors, including red and that red is one of the colors of the rainbow which was God's promise to mankind that he would never destroy us with water again and if God approves of the color red then no one else should have a problem with it!
