We don't know what a good gift would be for them. They are getting married in india and we want to send a gift, but don't want to offend anyone or seem like we are spending too much money. Something between $20 and $50 would be appropriate we think.

I am engaged to a wonderful man, i love him very much. I was so happy when he proposed his mother wants to help pay and of course plan our wedding and honeymoon. because she has never did for her son before, my fiance wants to make her happy. we plan on buying a house, his mother is helping him choose it, not me. since they have good taste and only because of my fiance can we afford a home. i will be helping pay for it, but he is putting up the downpayment. because of this i feel i have no desicion making power, he does not understand my feelings, he also informed me we would make his mother so happy if she could decorate this house for us also, having great taste. I wonder what my part is in this marriage, i am not yet seeing the benefit of marriage over living together as we are now. I feel my opinion is not valued or wanted, let me say this what few times i met his mother she is very nice to me, and does have good taste, etc, so this is not a dis to her. any thoughts?

I have a wedding coming up and im so confused about the seating. I want a headtable with all my lineup, but what do you do about their family and spouse? Im sure they would want to spend the evening with them, but would it be ugly to have their spouse sit at the headtable, or even uglier to have the lineup just mixed in the crowd at tables with their family? any suggestions

I got engaged on valentine's day of this year? I told my two best freinds, now all a sudden they are getting married as well. One of them has went so far as to even plan her wedding date to be in the same month I plan on getting married. The other is trying to get married before all of us. I am happy for the both of them. Am I being selfish or do you think they are just rushing to the altar because I am getting married and they might just want the same attention as well?

Need a few ideas. The bride-to-be doesn't want any strippers at all, but we do plan on getting a hotel room and also hitting the bars. I've planned a b-party before, but needs some fresh new ideas (besides the typical "suck for a buck" shirt, scavenger hunt, dress her up crazy, etc.). Any suggestions?

I've got a wedding to go to in a few days. Is it okay to wear jeans to a wedding as long as you dress it up? I was going to wear some heels and a very dressy shirt. Also some very elegant jewelry. Is this disrespectful, or not proper wedding ediqette?

My fiance and I lived at his moms to save money for our place. To make a long story short- things got stressful, and we ended things. A month later we're back together trying to work things out. Only now, everything his mom invited me to do with the family ( functions, parties, concerts etc.) she invites his low life best friend. Not only don't i live there anymore (thank God), I feel totally excluded. Granted it is his choice to take his best friend places, but something just feels off. Their all going to a reggae concert 2gether, he knows i love reggae- but i don smoke- so apparently thats the reason for taking the best friend. His best friend is exactly what i dont want my fiance to become. He has no job, no education (not even a hs diploma), no license and no car... How do i act in this situation- we were apart for a month and now im totally excluded. His mother made a comment about how nice the house has been with me gone...huh- she doesnt want her son to move out. Please- advice?
