You need to decide these things first, 1. are you getting married in a church? 2. Are you having alot of guests.. do you have a reception hall picked out and an appt made? do you know the costs? Do you have a dress and who will you choose, if any to be in your wedding? Limo? DJ, band? Food? Caterer? Date picked and time? Cake and delivery time for cake? Guest book purchased? Table linens and centerpieces picked yet? Mail out announcements? Assigned seating? and more and more and more............ start planning...

My best advice is to head to the nearest bookstore and drop about 10 to 15 bucks on a wedding planning book. It gives you and tells you everything you need to know. I was in your same boat, but since I started to rely on the advice of my planning book I know I have everything under control. Also, I would suggest visiting web sites such as www.weddingchannel.com it is free and has the same, if not more tips and planning tools to help you along the way. Congratulations and good luck!!

First of all take a deep breath. When your relaxed look at the most imortant things, like dresses, tux, location is a big one, and whoes in the wedding. Also, cake food, entertainment, and stuff like that is also important. Don't worry, everything will be fine. And if you have more questions call a wedding planner, or ask your parents, they've had a wedding!

The best site that sells things for cheap and has alot of things for your reception is oriental trading. You can get most of your things from there for a very cheap price. Register for the knot very good site, it helps you with everything. I am using their checklist, bugeter, and lots more from this site. It keeps you very orangized. Another website is forever and always this has the rest of the wedding things you need. For inivations try dawns invitations. They are pretty cute and the prices are not bad. You could also make the invitations by yourself. For a wedding dress you can check out davids bridal, marys bridal, and kanacca. Good luck and have fun. Best of wishes. Congrads.

Buy this book secondhand, on the internet at like half.com or powells.com:

Miss Manners on Weddings

it will tell you all you need to know.

Do not trust internet sources, any asshat out there can make a wedding webpage and spread all sorts of terrible advice because they are tyring to sell you something.

Definitely go to http://www.theknot.com
It has a planning checklist with time frames when each step should be done. I have used to to plan my Aug 26th wedding and found it to be a lifesaver. You also have to decide if you're going to have a theme or not, what your colors are going to be, who you want to be in the bridal party, and what kind of ceremony and reception you want.. There is a lot of decisions to be made, but just take them one at a time and you'll do fine. Congrats and Good Luck!! :)

Take a deep breath and relax. Go to your local library or book store. They have sections devoted to wedding planning. Try wedding planning for dummies. It breaks everything down into manageable chunks so you don't get overwhelmed.

theknot.com and weddingchannel.com both helped me out soooo much! Plus my mom is amazing so that helped. Both of those websites have checklists and to-do lists that will totally help you out. And don't worry, no matter how much you plan you will still get stressed out in the end. Everything was running smoothly for mine and I was still a basketcase!!
