You first have to be able to provide for this womans daughter. Figure out what you really like to do, and then get educated , or trained. Second establish credit. While you are doing all of this you must do the most important thing, ask God for help, and guidance. If her mom goes to church, go with her. Just talking to the woman won"t do much, they are just words, you have to show her who you are by your actions. To do it right it will take some time. How much is this girl worth to you? If you are right with God, it will all come to be, cuz it was his idea anyway, get it?

Well you should ask her dad, but if dad isn't there then go to her mother with respect and time.Just one on one with your soon to be momma in law. Sit with her and explain why you are there from the get go. then you can state any points like your love for her daughter and your respect for her mother, and the honer it is to be included in there family.Reinforce the point that you have the greatest respect for her daughter. Make this a special time for just the 2 of you.Something mom can brag about to her friends. Maby you could even meet her for lunch. Usuly it is done in the parents home tho. Brunch is a perfect time. Bring her something special that she can keep forever. Put some thought in to it with out your love around.

First bring the mother a boquet of flowers, maybe even out to dinner, since it is a very important thing. Talk to her tell her why you love her daughter and then pop the quesiton to her something like this, I was wondering you would give me your blessing in asking your daughter to marry me.Or I was wondering if you would give me the pleasure of becoming my mother in law.Good luck

Be honest about your feelings for her daughter. Tell her your plan of how you plan to provide for her...where you will live...what kind of career plans you have...etc. Mostly let her mother know how much you love her daughter, and how much it would please you to have her blessing and permission to ask for her daughter's hand in marriage.

How sweet! A respectful man with great morals and values. I'll tell you what, I don't know how you should word it, but just the fact that you're asking in this day and age is sure to get you a "yes"!
Good for you!

hey! i thought we supposed to ask the dad? take her out to eat at a nice place. have fun, eat, drink wine, and at the top of the night.. let her know how you feel about her daughter and that there is no other person you can think other than her to spend the rest of your life with. hope that was helpful.

You tell her that you love her daughter very much and would like her blessing to marry her. What a lovely thing to do, by the way.

i'd think about how you would want your future son in law to approach you about marrying your daughter, and say the things you;d want to hear to the girl's mother. good luck!

Ditto on all these answers. Very traditional to do this, your mother in law will adore you for it. Give your financee all the tradition you can, this is a part of her life she will treasure forever
