Marriage & Divorce - 15 December 2007

Is this Christian? Are there any alternatives? Are there any Christian authors on dealing with one of these problems that writes against separation or divorce? Please don't harp on this sounding codependent just non emotional facts with authorities.

My brothers fiancee bought her own ring and gave him the bill. He didn't even have a chance to go shopping with her...is she wrong to do this? I'm getting the feeling that she is controlling and she also forced the marriage thing in his head.

Ok, my girlfriend is a Catholic and i'm Christian, I believe in sex after marriage, but I don't only want to have sex to produce a child. She doesn't believe in taking birth control or any form of contraception... for example... I don't want to get married and on our wedding night have sex and she's pregnant, then never have sex again until we want another child. This is almost selfish of me, but I believe sex can be used as a form of pleasure, not only to make children.

I don't ONLY want to have sex 4 times to have 4 kids, then never again....

What do I do? We love each other, not getting married any time soon, but if it ended up happening... I just don't want kids as soon as I get married, we're still young (twenties). I believe you should only have children when you're ready, but don't believe it's wrong to have sex for pleasure... with the love of your life, and you're married to one another....

We have been married for 2yrs and 2gether for 4yrs. When I married I was done with other men and I give my marriage 150% everyday.He works and I stay home but he never comes home to a dirty house or and I cook nearly everyday.Any drama brought to our marriage he brought it. I'm not careless with our money.We don't have children and niether of us want any. Not only am I good in all the areas of the house I really bring it in the bedroom!!! This may sound cheesy but I feel that God made this man just for me. If we're apart for a second I'm always happy to see him.My soul loves my husband. He is a big man but I love every roll and love handle he has. He is changing he is not the same man married.I've talked till I'm blue in the face and as much as I love him I love me more. I can't imagine having an affair.I told him just because I don't play the game doesn't mean I don't know how. I would do anything to make my marriage work but he is not going to drive me crazy and there's other fish.

I have been friends a man for four years now.When we first met we were both married.I am now divorced.Our relationship grew from friends to more last year when we began kissing but no further.I moved out of the area and now have returned.We got in contact again and were right back where we left it.He is still married .We arent sexually active but talk everyday several times and I have no idea if we are real good friends or more could come from this.He has said he is stuck and this whole thing is outside the box for him.He loves being around me and always misses me and I miss him.Is this a full blown affair ive somehow created all on my own here?I love him but would hate to be the one to make a good man tainted by my temptations or is it vice versa?

I found out that he has a newborn baby with his new girlfriend, which means that while we were seperated, and going through divorce proceedings, he got her pregnant. I dont care about him cheating or anything, I just want to know if I can persue this legally even though our divorce is final?

here is some more explanation about my question..I have been a relationship with a guy ( my current partner ) for about two years. We do have a great matual respectful/love relationship with eachother..we are not only partner but best friends as well and all things that should matter in a real relationship we do have them the best. BUT the only problem is, he is porn addicted and masterubte alot, when Im not around. I know that nobody is perfect and he has already honestly told me that, that how he suffers from it, and how it makes him feel bad after doing that so sincere.. we talked I tried to help him and did all I could do..I tried to bring more fun companis in our relationship..to be more sexier and even the way whores wear or things like that or do but still everything is the same..it hurts my feelings b/c I know he is not doing it on porpuse but still DOES. Just need some advice to know how to help him to quit this terrible habit.

that is the situation. Well after all that and going through hell for 6weeks she called me and wants to try and fix things. The thing is I have no clue what she did in this time, and feel what would stop her from doing it again. My heart is telling me to go back to her but my head is telling me to be done. I do not want to ever put myself through such a thing again. She didnt want anything to do with me for some reason. When I asked her to work it would all she would say is I dont want to right now and this is what I need. She also told me to stop trying I dont know how many times. Now she is back and doesnt understand why I am questioning things.. I love her, I really do... but I also have to look out for my self.. i mean lets think about it. lets say u love the person so much & everything. but individually u have different things. lets say u have the house & the land before marriage, u both have cars & money before u get married ( but u have more money). with the world as it is today maybe the man wants to protect what was his before marriage. i'm nt saying that a divorce is imminent but divorce does happen & it brings out the worst in people. then the man gets shafted no matter what happens.

the alternative would be going to a state that has no common law marriage & just live there. then there would be no issue about who gets what. you take with u what u had before u got into the relationship. i'm nt saying marriage is crazy or anything but it has gotten to the point where when u get married & divorced its one sided. one person gets shafted while the other person lives better than the other. do any of u agree?

If u get divorced and one month later u find out that ur husband just had a baby with his new girl, could you do anything about it since ure divorced but this girl WAS pregnant before you got divorced.

which one has more advantage to the relationship. when the couples have opposite personality (example, someone has temper the other is calm, one is social and the other is not....etc). or Similar (ex, both like to stay home, or both like to go out, both are social, both are not social...etc)

She says he won't take her out to dinner or movies when she is off work every other weekend, but hes out and about the other times when she works and just wants to sit when shes off. So she hit him. Shes pregnant 1month also. Ofcourse I warned of consequences, but got any ideas here? They are newly married for the second time, with a five yr. old and one on the way.

My husband and I were on the verge of divorce less than six months ago but decided to try and make it work. There are some insecurities lingering because of the what we went thru. I don't go out with friends like I used to for two reasons, one to make us stronger and two because I get more enjoyment out of being w/ him than hanging out with them. My friends took me to a bar last month for my b-day and just to reassure him I called a few times and texted him to let him know he was on my mind. Yesterday was his holiday wrk party and I've been pretty sick lately and he said he would call to check on me since he doesn't have a cell for me to reach him. Well he didn't and it upset me, I'm not feeling well and he goes 7 hrs without so much as a how are you, did the kids get home safe nothing. Am I being over dramatic? Seriously I am hurt but wonder if I'm over-reacting.

Recently my girlfriend of 7 years and I got married. Since then, our sex life has dwindled substantially. She seems less interested, but when we talk about it, she says she is interested. Coinciding, she has found other interests that take up a larger part of her life, and so sex isn't much of a priority anymore. Again, when we discuss it, she says it is. Additionally, a few months ago I had a difficult situation about leaving my job. I have since left, and although I haven't established my business fully, I am heading in the right direction and feeling happy. When it comes to times that we would normally have sex, she doesn't act interested or give me any signs or cozy up to me. Also, when I kiss her, she often pulls away quickly (and I don't have bad breath). After this new distance, I feel drawn to her more and more, which makes things worse. As well, I can't leave her because I am step-father to her son. I am attractive and women smile at me in the street. What do I do?

I know that I should talk to a counselor, but my husband does not know of my feelings for someone else at work. He's been suspecting me because lately I've taken a lot of care into how I look. We're supposed to start IVF soon, and I'm contemplating if I should go through it or if I should just freeze my eggs now and use them later when I know for sure I am ready.

I think if I tell him, he will be crushed, and I don't know what he would do to me physically. He says he would kill me if I ever leave him, but I never took it seriously. Nothing has happened between me and this other man, except that I know I have fallen for him. I think about him 24/7. I think that he has feelings for me too, but since we're both married, we just haven't put anything into action.

on his last one we found out he has to have back surgery later on in life i am a strong mother but, the last one he had he was in a body cast it was so hard taking care of him i cryed a lot and well i was wondering if you got any words to make me stronger for his next surgery's because i am feeling not so strong anymore i just tired a lot and can't bare to think of going through it again. he also don't walk, talk, see....such a pretty little boy too. i watch a program on TV today and it made me so sad about a husband and wife raising 19 handicap kids and one died at a young age so you guessed it once again tears flow down my face and i have a feeling i can not explain but it is a sad feeling and thoughts run through my mind of how bad it was in that body cast and well i feel like I am over welmth with sadness. thanks.....for any words....a sad mother.....
