Marriage & Divorce - 18 November 2007

My ex-husband keeps leaving me voicemails and calling me. He leaves about two message per day and I don't have the strength to deal with them so I delete them without listening to them. They are usually mean and degrading.

I don't know if I should send him an e-mail saying to stop calling me or just ignore him and hope that he eventually stops calling. I have to turn off my cell phone because its so annoying.

There is nothing left to discuss between the two of us.

Our daughter will be visiting with him and his mother over the holiday. He was pressuring me for her grades. She got a 3.0 this semester which is good considering she changed schools and we moved.

I am at my wit's end with my ex though. He is so persistent and won't leave me alone. The more he calls, the more turned off I get though....

I do almost all of the housework and chores in our marriage. We both think this is appropriate as my wife has the stronger personality of the two of us and I am more submissive.

Naturally, with this arrangement she has lots of free time and I am usually pretty busy. Today being Sunday she was reading the newspapers while I was readying our house for Thanksgiving. I was doing a lot of vacuuming, dusting and polishing and have a lot more to do before Thursday as we are having Thanksgiving dinner here.

A friend of my wife came by to visit and chat this afternoon. I answered the door and greeted her and told my wife she was here. After putting coffee on for both of them and getting a light snack out I excused myself and went about doing my chores. I thought I was very pleasant and welcoming to our neighbor.

Later, when we were alone my wife scolded me for not sitting with them. I thought I was very polite but wanted to finish my housework.

Do you think I was wrong?

this weekend my husband traveled up to New Jersey to go to a UFC fight, about a 5 hour trip away, after the fight he was going to an after party in NYC. i was not comfortable with this... i am 5 months pregnant and feeling very insecure right now. i wanted to go with him but we couldnt afford it. tonight when he got home i was looking at his text messages to reply to a friend, when i stumbled across a text from his friend who wrote "how was the after party was jenna there? did you get laid?" (jenna jamison was supposed to be there, another reason i felt uncomfortable about it) husband didnt respond to his text, or either did and ereased his reply. while he was out having a good time i was in the ER for 6 hours with kidney stones! do i have a right to be mad at husband for this text message? i feel like his friend is a jack ***, and DH associates with him. why would his married friend as my husband who is married if he got laid!!!? is this way wrong or is it me being insecure?

My soon to be ex has threatened numerous times that he will "f- up my world" & fight me for full custody of our 2 young daughters, though he doesnt & has never had anything to do with them throughout their entire lives, this man has never so much as given either of them a bath! I taped the end of his most recent rant and would love for a judge to get a glimpse into what he's really like because if he ends up with even visitation, I want it to be monitored.

I have been divorced since 2005, I have custody and he has visitations. My ex-husband(37 years old) lives with his mom, no car and lives in the house with a known drug user (his niece) who just got arrested, I found out today, a month ago after the fact. His family told my daughter not to tell me and my husband because they did not want my ex to lose visitations with my daughter. When my daughter finally got this off her chest, she wept for an hour feeling like she was going to be yelled at or outed as a "big mouth" by her grandmother, father, cousin and grandfather. I am open for any suggestions on how to handle this situation, whether it be go to a lawyer or talk to her father and let him know I know..etc...I personally do not want my daughter over there any more until he moves, she moves or ??????? What can I do?

I am married and come into contact with many clients in the course of a week. I get flirted with frequently, but sometimes I can't tell if men are actually flirting or just being friendly. My male co-workers claim that men never touch a woman unless they have a sexual interest in them, but I don't believe that is true of all men. Don't some men just hug or touch the arm or back or hand of a woman because they are more touchy or friendly than most? Does it ALWAYS mean there is an underlying sexual desire there? And what about compliments....do men ever just compliment a woman on her appearance without there being a sexual motive?

I am 65 years old in an unhappy marriage. I have traveled to China and met a woman who is my age. We are close friends. I want to go to China to marry her and maybe make a life there, or maybe move back to the US. Is this at all logical thinking???
She has little money but we would live well with my income and hers. I have asked for a divorce several times with no results. I feel our marriage is irreperable. Now my wife has ruined most of my friends with lies. I feel like I am in a train wrck and need to move on.

well, a few nights ago, i told you all about how my fiance of 3 and a half years cheated on me with his ex and that she now has a 5 mo. old daughter saying that it's his. so today, i called her and told her that we would like a dna test and she cursed me out and told me that she was "cool" and would just take care of her baby alone. now this girl cheated on her husband with my fiance and her husbadn took a dna test and was proven NOT the father so she claims that my fiance is the only one she was with...why wont she take a dna? is she hiding something?

Yet it seems that men of the age I am interested in (40+) usually have at least a child out of their previous marriage. I know for a fact that I am not prepaired to co-exist with a child - let alone one that it is not mine, under the same roof. Though I can be with a man who will take care of his child at his own space and time and will not expect from me to act as a substitute mother. The question is really for single dads:- When you like a woman, would it be ok with you if she does not care to be a mom for your child? Is it ok for if the woman you like needs to keep a distance from your child? Or do all single dads (who are good dads) come with the idea: you like me - you MUST make space for my child in your life as well??
Let me make it easier: It is not that I hate children, I just don't feel like playing mom, or assuming the role of the stepmother, or sharing most of my time with him AND his child instead with him only. I don't care to have ALL of his time.

i was married 2 years ago in new york and still live in new york and now am separated not legally separated just separated, my wife wants a divorce and she claims to have all the papers ready for me to sign to finalized the divorce, how long could i delay the divorce process for if i dont want to divorce at this time , what would she have to go though to finalize the divorce without me, how long would it take for her to legally divorce me if i decide not to corporate

My ex said he is not going to pay me for half of the house ( This was court ordered for him to do so). What can I do legally besides filing for contempt of court. Can I move myself back into the house that we own? Can I legally move his crap onto the front lawn and have him move out until he pays me?

My friends have invited me to goto India with them . They are visiting the husband's family who live on a farm in Punjab India. I must take a Tyfoid needle, malaria tablets, watcg out for snakes on the farm and be with his wife who is suffering from a Bad Gall Bladder. I booked a ticket and cancelled it bec they wife had an attack on Tues and needs surgery but she is putting it off for a few weeks to go to India on Holidays at the end of Nov and returning in Feb 2008.I feel somewhat ackward about it all. I told the husband and he feels I should come along and enjoy myself. YEAH, and what if the wife has another attack??? What about if I want to go somewhere and I don't know how to travel in India?I was only going for one month and then i thought it was too much trouble for me.The husband is a controlling, self-interest person and if he thinks his wife is dying and he puts it them possibly she is and I do not want to be there whenit happens. He says I should be more thoughtful . Yeah??!

this guy I know was married to a woman for 14 years. They have been divorced for 30 some years. He keeps playing pity party about how bad first wife was even in front of second wife. I find it so hard to divorce because we have three small children plus, i am a product of divorce and i rebelled and became primiscuous at a young age and i dont want that happening to my daughters. My husband, on the other hand doesn't want to leave and wants to work things out....but i still want to keep my distance for a while so we could re-evaluate our marraige. What my question is, if we do stay in the same household, but keep our distance work out our schedules to be completely opposite so we dont ever have to really spend time with eachother etc. should i still make him dinner and do the "wifely" duties that im so used to doing? it may sound like a silly question, but at this point i am just really confused as to what choice i want to make since my husband and i technically cannot physically seperate.....please be honest.

I seriously cannot let this go, my husband has an ex and I cant help but look at her myspace page. Maybe its because I THOUGHT she was really pretty (because I only saw one picture) and the others she is so NOT pretty! She recently tried to reach him which has re-surfaced this curiousity. I have been married for 10 years, have 4 children. I have to leave my husband like now But how? He has physically abused me but is so deeply insecure and jealous. He accuses me of cheating and meeting people but yet he can do what he wants. He did cocaine and I found about it and he has congestive heart failure. What an idiot. My husband was living with his mistress but he finally moved back home. She said she could move out of the apartment they shared in a week. He told her to take as much time as she needs. I just found out that she is staying and he is insisting on paying 1/2 the rent still. Why is he helping her?
