I am unhappily maried and 65 years old. I want to go to China to marry a woman I have met there.?

Question

I am 65 years old in an unhappy marriage. I have traveled to China and met a woman who is my age. We are close friends. I want to go to China to marry her and maybe make a life there, or maybe move back to the US. Is this at all logical thinking???
She has little money but we would live well with my income and hers. I have asked for a divorce several times with no results. I feel our marriage is irreperable. Now my wife has ruined most of my friends with lies. I feel like I am in a train wrck and need to move on.

IF YOUR FRIENDS BELIEVE YOUR WIFE'S LIES THEN I GUESS THERE NOT YOUR FRIENDS AT ALL. LOOK LIFE IS SHORT AND NO OFFENSE YOUR ALREADY 65 SO WHAT ARE YOU WAITING TO PURSUE HAPPINESS. GO FOR IT LIFE IS ALL ABOUT TAKE A RISK TO SEE WHAT HAPPENS . DON'T MARRY MRS CHINA SOOO FAST FIRST GET TO KNOW HER A FEW MONTHS AT LEAST AND IF YOU RALLY LIKE HER THEN I GUESS MRS.CHINA IS A WINNER....

Jerry dear, be aware that you are still married, and your present wife may be entitled to a lot more than you think. Depending on how long you have been married, she may get 1/2 of your pension and any savings, IRA's etc... Also, any property you have together will need to be divided equally, unless you just decide to walk away and give her everything. At age 65, you still may find happiness with the woman in China, but are you sure you are willing to change everything. If you have children, how would they react to Dad making this change? It is tough starting a new life at any age, but at 65, it can be extra emotional and stressful! I know this b/c my dad did it and it was a nightmare! She dumped him when he became sick, he ended up on the street with nothing and in a nursing home until he died. Think about this very carefully!

I am the same age as you are At our ages we have to think not twice about such a drastic change but 100 times O K We have to be real here You dont know this chineese woman and do you know that chineese people do not accept other race Plus let say you fall very ill Do you think she will take care of you WELL NO Think hard before doing such a move If your life is so hellish with your wife well rent a appt 30 miles from your place You will have peace

If you are not divorced, it is not logical to continue to fantasize about this woman that you met in China. The grass always looks greener on the other side. I will be the first to admit that you sound genuinely miserable, but jumping ship will not be the answer to what is really ailing you. Seek counseling if you feel that you need it. Focus on other things until the two of you resolve your differences.

If you want out that bad you should move out whats the separation time there (2 years here) file at the end of it by then she may have moved on and you can travel there and work things out for you and your friend

i think any man will worry about ever geting married to a women who wants to bank her own money,and have you pay all expencec,what ever happened to it takes two to make a marriage work,,and it doesnt matter if shes white chinise,black or purple,,wise up there r a lot of single or twiced married women out there who would love u n respect u,enough to want to share everything,,good luck n finding real love n happiness...

are u sure ur wife lied to your friends..this stuff what uve told us is pretty bad and mean. what is ur wife supposed to do/ live on? and why did u wait so long to ask for a divorce?

since the woman is your age, it sounds genuine. why not just be lovers and forget about marriage.
