Marriage & Divorce - 17 November 2007

My elder sister has just got married and everytime they have a fight with her husband, she keeps calling me about it. She would tell me that she wants to leave her husband and later on she would change her mind..Her husband would tell me that my sister would compare herself to me, coz I have been spoiled by my husband while she's not. I keep telling my sister to be very nice to her husband and spoil him so he will spoil her too, but my sister wont listen to me..
Today, she called me again and said that she wants to leave her husband. I know its not her husband's fault when they have a fight, she is just being immature most of the time. Even for a nonsense reason, she would tell me shes gonna leave her him.
And now Im just stressing. My sister had made so many wrong decisions in life. Ive been hoping that her relationship with her husband will work. Sometimes I just want her to divorce her husband but I know she will just regret it...

My ex and I dated for a few years on and off, he would always break up with me becasue he was " scared" ( i have 2 kids). He was good with the kids and we where very in love, we never even argued. everyone was happy for us and we never though about marriage until we met each other,,, when i stopped seeing him i felt like I was grieving for someone who had died,( more than a year ago) i was extremly uspet. I started seeing someone else anout 4 1/2 months ago, he seems like a great guy so far. But my Ex wanted me back, he even told his and my parents he wanted to get married, and I said no. I love him but im scared to make the same mistake for the 100th time, i felt like if i said yes i was telling the world i was stupid. I feel aweful about,, do u think i did the right thing? how can I make myself feel better and get over this? and since I feel this way maybe Im not ready for a new relationship??? but i dont want to hold myself back and not move on,,, its been years, what can I do????

lam 27 separated for two two years. I have a 2 year old son. I met this man who is 42 he is in the process of divorcing. He is not divorcing because he met me he was separated for 5 years He has one son and fostering two boys since the wife could not get more kids.At my age do you think its a good idea to marry a 42 year old with three kids and i got one of my own?

My new girlfriend and I are about to spend our first Chritstmas together. We've both been married and recently D'd, we've been seeing each other exclusively since July, and it's pretty serious. I'm skipping my own family's T-day dinner for her's.
Here's my problem . . .
I don't want to get into that mundane plotting Christmas gifts and their costs, let's cap our spending, make me a list of what you want? To me that's the behavior of a stale relationships. But at the same time I also want avoid the feelings of guilt that come with giving too much or too little. I quess that's why we put those stale practices into play, I understand that.
But, that's not really a solution is it?
So I ask the public (you) for your input.
How far does one go on an occation such as this? I'm not going to buy her a BMW, but money isn't the issue. I want to shower her with gifts but I don't want either of us to come away with the feeling that we could of, or should of done better.
Suggestions...?

I was curious if during supervised visits if the notes they take also document what the custodial is bringing and if the custodial parent doesn't bring the necessary stuff for the visits (example: Diapers, Wipes, Food, Drinks. (this is stuff I was requested not to bring) ).

This takes place at a local YMCA just in case rule and regulations are different depending on the region or center.

my husband and i are in marriage counseling to address an affair he had a few years back..everytime we come home after the sessions, when i try to question him about something he said during the sessions, he starts to yell at me and leaves the house..One of the things i told him that i needed in counseling is for him to take the time to listen to me and for us to communicate.. His response is always that i need to know when to stop (even though i barely get a word out when he says this), or he tells me "why should i listen to you?" .. I am getting frustrated because even though we are learning different techniques in counseling, its like when we get home, all the techniques go out the window..what should i do??

They're not weird or anything but I feel uncomfortable talking with him about what I want him to do sexually. After six years and two kids you would think I would be okay with it. By no means is she fat. By NO MEANS! However she does have a little bit of extra flab around her stomach, and sometimes it shows. She's such a blessing to me, and I love her very much. She is very very attractive to me, except in this area. She used to be between 180-200 lbs, and I'm kind of concerned about her getting back up to that --- she doesn't want to, and won't. But I think she could afford to loose 10 pounds. I know I'm being selfish, and the love I have for her does not depend on how much she weighs. HELP!

My friend met a guy on the internet. The guy at first told her that he was divorced. They chat almost everyday for one year and decided to meet. They guy confessed that he was still married and was worried if he told her the truth at first he was going to loose her.He also lied that he had two boys . Only to tell her when they met that he had one biological one and fostering other two. My friend thinks he is a nice guy but she is not sure if the guy got more surprises in store. i met this guy a yr ago in Floorida we were both there to be warm and getting out of bad relationships. He came to visit me and drove 2 days to get here. My son(grown) was in the next room we slept in the same bed but nothing happened. We have hugged but never kissed. How can you tell if this will always be platonic or more. He has mentioned buying a home in my state and knows no one but me and my family here. I have met his parents and he has met mine. I have never been in a relationship like this. She sent contempt of court papers yesterday for non payment of child support even though I am positive he is current. She has told many lies about me to his family, turned his brother against him using me as a wedge and just tourments my husband using the kids constantly. She has told him that she is jealous of me and what we have and will never leave him alone. She had an affair and became pregnant by a colleague of hers is why they divorced. I have been so miserable watching the crap that my husband has to go through and dealing w/ the reprocussions from the children at our expense through her manipulating him that I just can't take it any more. He is afraid of her, or so he says so he doesn't tell her to stop calling him and emailing him only at work. Sometimes she is able to convence him that I am the cause for the way she behaves...I can't take it anymore and I am thinking of leaving him. Has anyone been able to survive this type of thing...how did you work it out????

My husband and I have been arguing a lot lately due to him working all the time and never being home. He makes all kinds of excuses as to why he needs to work, and when I try to tell him he's neglecting our child (I don't even bother saying he's neglecting me anymore), all he tells me is I'm barking up the wrong tree.

We had a huge fight yesterday and I ended up staying the night at a relative's place with our child, simply to allow both myself and him to cool off. We spoke on the phone, we argued on the phone, and it ended with him getting a call on his work cell to go into work. He said he'd rather talk to me face to face, that instead of on the phone we should sit down together and talk everything through. I said fine, he could call when he's ready, he knows where we are. He told me he'd call when he got home, but he never did, although he says he didn't finish work until 4 in the morning.
