My husband built his dream 'Game Room' last year, he has a flat screen TV, pool table, dart board, a bar that he and his son built, A full sized arcade Ms. Pac Man with all the 80's games such as Galaga, Frogger, Donkey Kong etc.... Posters of various things he likes and enjoys. This year I am buying him a Lionel train set that will go up near the ceiling and travel around the room. His son will help me install it to surprise him. he loves his game room and everyone in the family has given him something for it.

Go with LCD save some money and still awesome picture and not as fussy as plasma. Go with 50" minimum and make sure it is 1080p meaning full HD capable. If you have cable if you don't already get the hd receiver so he can get the hd programming. Of course you have the big screen you need big sound consider a nice home theater set-up.

P.S. look around some of the big stores usually have a combo deal at huge savings like tv, stereo, speakers and hd receiver all in one. The one thing these components lack is the cables so make sure you get some HDMI cables for the tv to the receiver and some good component or optical cables if available for the surround sound unit. One other thing if you both like movies and maybe he collects them consider a HD DVD player or even better get him a PS3 that can also play blu-ray discs. DirectTV with the HD receiver.

I dream of something like this in a few years but really it you want to blow his mind and he doesn't already have one get a Hot tub.

that's awesome....my husband is fixing up his man room too.....I think HD TV...and something with a HUGE screen. Somehow, no matter the size of the room, the size of the TV screen is important! LOL

He's going to have a poker table, a mini bar, all his collectibles displayed etc. A big screen TV, surround sound system, probably some darts too.

Don't forget the issues of Playboy, a mini-fridge stocked with beer, a micro-wave for popcorn, and maybe a blow doll that resembles Pamela Anderson.
