I just saw an article on t.v about postnump agrements, (news to me!) and I found myself asking the question above.
We've all heard the vows before, and they have become just about meaningless in our secular "all about me" society. But now it seems the courts are treating marrige more like a busness merger that a romance. WTF??? I understand the need for a prenump in RARE cases, but a postnump just baffles me. As I understand marrige everything you do after you get married you do together. how do you seperate decissons or wealth after the fact and still hope to have a healthy relationship? And why would you want to? maybe I'm old fasioned but in my marrige all the money earned goes into one account and we handle finances together. If we one day split then we walk out with what we started with plus half the estate. That seems fair to me.

I've been hearing a lot about "swingers" in our community and was curious what you guys think. Do you think it's ok as long as everyone involved is ok with it? I kind of feel like, whatever works for them, but I could never cheat on my husband. What are your thoughts on the subject?

He is not really enjoying with me. He is not satisfying me alt lease a moderate level. After 5 minutes from the moment of he started to penetrate his penis to my vagina immediately sperms are coming out. I am not happy with him. But I still loving him. Please give some useful ways to overcome it. Serious answers only please.

Think about it, wouldn't it be easier to be married for periods of say 5 years? At the end of 5 years, you could continue for another 5 or just say "nah, see ya later."

Then we wouldn't need lawyers. We could sit down with our newly divorced spouse and split up the stuff and just move on.

If so, how long have they been married and how close are you to them? I am 35 and still have both of my parents and they have been married for over 42 years. I know how fortunate I am so I was wondering how many others out there have the same fortune as I do.

Two years ago, my husband was deployed to Iraq. While he was gone, my mother-in-law (who I used to get along with for the most part - we had our differences but they were few), anyway she acussed me of having an affair and getting pregnant (which I was not) while my husband was gone. Also, I have been told she would prefer I not be part of her family. On numerous occassions she has pointed out that I am not the person she would have picked for her son. Now that he has returned home, she is realizing that her negative attitude toward me is causing less interaction with her son & she wants us to get along. My husband did not witness any of these instances with his mother, therefore he is asking me to let it all go. He does not believe that his mother acted this way or feels any ill will towards me. I am not sure what to do.

I've heard of matriarchal societys in anthropology class.
If you're not familiar, the jist is, a women's duty is to stay with her family; her mother and siblings.
When she is ready to have children she doesn't marry, or live with her lover and his only responsibility is to pay for the mid wife. The male role model in the childs life is her brother, whom she shares a home with.
This society makes sense to me. She would always have the support of her family, and the romance with her lover would last so much longer. I don't think the man is sloughing off his fatherly duties, because he is taking care of his sisters kids.
What do you think?

this weekend having a 4th b-day party for my son. also been dealing with heavy duty cancer and cancer treatments last 3 years. haven't seem my husbands family in last 3 years cuz it seemed they didn't care or were to busy to help, care or call me. to a point, my husband does need his family too i guess or he will go nuts. dealing with cancer is not easy. his family i feel are very immature and very vain with looks. when they see me after 3 years, they will be shocked how i look. the chemo and meds have made me gain alot of weight and i'm also bald. how can i deal with this when they come over for my son's b-day party. it will be my in-laws, his single sister and his other married sister with her husband and 2 kids which one is a teen now. i know i shouldn't feel and think this way but so nervous and embrassed what they will think of me, especially how i look.

she wasn't home yet and her husband told me to wait for her. While I was waiting, he made a pass at me! I don't know what to do now. I tried to blow it off but he tried to kiss me and he wasn't even drunk or anything. He didn't even try to apologize either. We have all been friends for 2 years and socialize together often. So I left and went home. And right before I walked out the door, he said "You'd want me if I was single, right?". I said "no, we are just friends, why mess things up?". My friend just called and I told her I left because I felt sick but where do I go from here??? I still want to be friends with her but not with him. Do I tell her what happened?

Supposedly they didnt have sex. ? Two wrongs dont make a right, however I think my bro still in love w/her. They fight more often and during the fights she says a lot of hurtfu things but 2-3 hrs later apologizes and says she said it out of anger. Staying 2gether bc of their 2 kids is not an option I agree with. I think ppl should stay married bc of their love 4 1 another. I know childsupport is going to a nightmare 4 him =(. I think they should try to work it out bc of what he did 2 her way back when. Am I wrong?

Whether it's Canada, USA, Australia, or Britain, most women from these parts of the world never seem satisfied. They want more romance, more vacations, less "laziness" on the part of their bread winning husbands. Even when they're with a very suitable man, the woman is usually the one to find something to be unsatisfied with. Is it the media, the women's movement, or what?

I have six children and four are over 18, one is 17 and the last one 15. They all seem to think their dad is a better parent because he hit them, grounded them and even ran them out of the house. He called them names and made them feel small. I on the other hand, never hit my children and talked with them about things and tried to guide them in the right direction and have always been there for them. If they really need money or clothes or help with a bill, I try to do that too within reason. My ex does none of this. When I ask my children if I was a good parent, they say that even though their dad did do mean things to them, he made them better people. I don't understand, I took them to church, to school, let their friends come over and was always trying to keep peace in the family. My husband and I divorced early in their lives and he never paid child support. Can you give me some insight? I guess I can't do it over but I certainly have sacrficed for them and never had anything for m

To cut a long story short, the love of my life has recently walked back in after 15years apart. In this time we have both moved on and created seperate families. We initially parted due to him being bisexual curious, 2 years later i did find out he had seen this through and carried on with this man for many years. He now claims he made a mistake about his sexuality and to give him his dues he has a legitamate family to prove this. We bumped into each other a few months ago by sheer coincidence, and for both, our feelings have rekindled. We are both still in our previous relationships and have no feelings for our partners whatsoever. I cannot leave as my husband is rich and i am very materialistic. What can i do????

I believe in love and that nothing can take it from you, not even death. If challenged to, would you die for your belief? I'm not talking about hurting others in the process, no suicide bombing ideas please! If your death hurt no other living creature. And you believed that any price is worth this belief, could you die for love?
