In our divorce settlement, he got the business and I got the house. It has been 7 months now, and I just sold it. Does he own anything in the house? He says he owns half. But it doesn't apply with the business. Who is right?

This should have been settled in the divorce. It is different with every situation. In my case, I got everything in the house, because he was the one who wanted the divorce...not me. I sold everything 7 months after the divorce, and he did not own anything. But like I said, every situation is different. Talk to your lawyer.

First off the best thing to do would be to consult a lawyer. But, it should have already been decided in the courtroom. He got the business, you got the house so...no he would not own half or else you would own half the business, which you do not as well.

I'd say he own half of the stuff in the house. You own the house, not the stuff. Just try and be fair. There's no reason you two can't work this out. The worst is over already.

Settlement means DONE. If you got the house in the settlement and he got the business..then it was done then. He can take you to court, but he won't get crap. He already got his precious business. :)

Personal effects (clothing, furniture, books, etc) are joint property. Business equipment and business inventory is part of the business. Have your lawyer clarify, but he is probably right about the contents.

Depends on what the Divorce Decree says. Read it before you get rid of anything or spend the money.
