My brothers won't have anything to do with me and my new husband. My ex-husband was abusive to me and the three children, and we had a restraining order for a year. I did meet my new husband during the time I was "Married"; he(my ex) lived down the basement and we didn't have sex for about seven years. My family goes out socially with my ex; they have even vacationed with my children during the time he had summer visitation. MY brothers will not even meet my husband. I think it is very odd that when my brother comes into town he calls my ex first so my kids, ex, mom, and he can get together. Frequently, I don't even know he is in town until my kids tell me Uncle Jim was at Dad's with grandma. During an electrical outage,my mother went to live with my ex. My kids (and I) wonder why my family never does anything with me. I've tried asking them if the divorce upset them, but they just bullshit me and say"We are just so busy". How do I handle this? I will not go back to who I was.

i have been visiting my real father's family this summer for two weeks. i havent seen my father for almost seven years. i havent had any contact with him whatsoever. my grandma on my father's side told me i should write him a letter about how i feel and to see if he will write me back. i am afraid that this will hurt my stepdad's feelings. ya know make him think that i dont love him and that i9 think he doesnt do a good job as a father. i want to talk to him about it but i am worried. should i talk to him about it or keep it a secret?

He said that he had not been in love with me for at least a year, and that he still loves me. He said he didn't leave me because he thought that I had done too much for him (I have been working at McD's and putting him through school so he could join the marine corps.) He is now done with meps and in dep.
He said that he "emotionally cheated" on me with his ex-girlfriend from high school (his first love), and doesn't remember if they kissed ("If I did it was instinctual"). They went up into the hills together to look at the stars and he told her her loves her. He hasn't even seen her for 7-8 years, until 2 weeks ago.) He claims that he is not sure if they are going to start dating, but I'm sure he is. When he left last night, he went to her house and talked with her and then "slept in her car". She left her boyfriend of 4 years (long distance relationship) to be with him.
He's offered me financial support but he hasn't had a job in 2 years and hurt his back.

Why would a guy do this to someone he is supposed to love and cherish?

For example back in the day, women traditonally stayed home and took care of the house and kids, and the divorce rate was much lower. But now more and more women are working full time. Do you think that this is what is causing higher rates of infidelity, particularly in the workplace where having an affair is relatively common? Are co-worker relationships with the opposite sex damaging to a marriage?

I have never been with anyone else and am about to get married. Sometimes I wonder if I am doing the right thing. I love him. He's been around the block and knows I am the one for him. Sometimes I just wonder if maybe I should have dated other people besides just him. If he is "the one", feedback??

i don't want to believe that marraige is a trick women created to get half a man's stuff when the relationship is over and all the the man stuff while the relationship is going on so they can sit on their a##es and do nothing but feel in control and secure in their lives while the man is bustin' his hump. can you change my mind?

Say the adult man in your life, who has been a good man all his life, was molested as a child and just recently started to go to counselling for it. He decided to start counselling after he became recently aware of CONTROLLABLE thoughts of molesting other people the same age he was when he was abused. Besides this, he is aware of little other lasting trauma from the sexual abuse.

How much of this would you want your man to tell you about? Would you honestly leave him at some point if he told you about his thoughts about young people? This is a serious question and no, I am not talking about myself.

Ok! I asked an early question and got many good answers. Let me clairfy my situation. I am forty she is forty one. Married 17 years. Two children 12 and 14. I finally woke up from many years of being a workaholic. I fell in love with her again. We do not fight at all. Living together is like roommates that dont talk at all. No sex or affection. She will not go to marriage counsueling. She says the more I push her to go the less she will think about it. She has finally gone on her own on therapy. She says also I am very controlling. I have let her go for several months now without a holding her back. No questions period. Now it has been 8 solid months of emotional hell for me. I cant seem to function. Do I stay or do I drop the bomb of "Either we work on this or we sell the house and go our seperate ways". Friends tell me this is your last resort. She has told me she does not love me as a husband and does not care for me!!! Help!!!

for 18 years we have one child, how is the best way to divorce her?

2006-08-10 08:49:30 · 10 answers · asked by Anonymous

My wife and I have an interesting ongoing debate. We both agree that married women cheat as often as married men, but that women are far better at covering their tracks. However, I would argue that women are far more likely to cover for a cheating friend than a man would.

For example, we have a married couple as friends. She always had a monthly girls' night. But her friend Cynthia would always call the husband, to tell him that his wife was on her way home. Now, his wife has a mobile phone. Why wouldn't she call him herself? He's come to me with this problem. Personally, I think she's cheating. My wife says not necessarily so. What do you thnk?

Your wife tells you that she invited her parents for a two week visit and they are staying in your home. The two weeks happen to be during your vacation. By the way, your in-laws don't like you.

Do you:
A. Move
B. Get a divorce
C. Bake them a laxative laced cake while they are there.
D. Take your wife out to dinner while they are there (without them) then call the police and tell them someone has broken into your home.

E. Lay around in only your shorts and belch and pass gas.

Or do you just say "Yes dear".
