I haven't been bugging him for help nearly as much, but today he's in a funk and I don't know why. So guys, what depresses you? Or what can I do to cheer him up? And please save the nasty comments, I'll report you.

things that bother me include bills, work, and my teenagers. My wife nagging at times doesn't help.
Try asking a simple question, such as "Is everything ok?" or "let's go to dinner together and just have a date"
Bills is the biggy for me.. If I worry about money, I shell up like a snapping turtle.
If you know where you stand with money as a couple in all likelihood you can communicate about anything.
Do something romantic, nothing picks up my spirit like my wife seducing me by spiriting the kids off to grandmas so we can have a few days of just her and I in bed without distractions from a sleepless 12 yr old across the hall.
My wife doesn't like wearing sexy stuff, but I like seeing her in it.. It's something to think about.

People cannot be happy and perfect all the time. Accept the funk and don't worry about it. Your husband will bounce back. Give him some time and space. Everybody has a lot on their plate these days and nobody seems to understand that people sometimes just need a break. Can't smile all the time.

Anything can depress someone. If it is medical, there doesn't even need to be a real issue, but depressed. Been there done that. For me, you need to provide a distraction. Do something completely different than a normal day, and something that puts no pressure on him. Maybe a night out, a diner out, whatever. Just grab some beers and watch some TV. Relax.

Heck, everybody has a bad day sometimes. What is bothering him probably is no big deal. What IS good is that his bad mood was noticed, and that you care. Getting a sitter and having dinner is great. Or, heck, just going for a ride , a walk, or just giving him a big hug is good. You two will probably never have major problems, cuz you seem to care. Caring IS what marriage is about.

How's his baseball team doing?
Is his job going well?
Maybe he had an argument with his best friend.
Maybe he's in one of those existential crises that men get more than women.
Men internalize problems. Women get on the phone with their friends. Men don't like to talk about what's bothering them, because it makes us feel weak and dependent on others.
So here's what you do. Just wait it out. But if it goes on, quit being solicitous with him. Instead say, "Out with it Frank. I'm tired of you moping around the house. If something's bugging you, then spit it out. But don't just sit here and make my life miserable by worrying about you."
Chances are, he'll slowly open up and tell you.

I can help you out! first you really want to understand your man? then go to your local library and get this book i highly recommend it to all couples.(MEN ARE FROM MARS-WOMEN ARE FROM VENUS) any thing and everything you want to know about a man is in this book. It will even open your eyes to yourself. I'll give you a sneak peak. (A man's sense of self is defined through his ability to achieve results) men are problem solvers and thinkers. now as for us beautiful creators.(A women's sense of self is defined through her feelings and quality of her relationship) so for us we are care givers and we TALK ALOT and we hold nothing inside that is bothering us. well there you go sweetie
good luck and do yourself a favor and read the book. you won't be able to put it down.

WHAT BUGS GUYS MOST IS BEING ASKED WHATS WRONG.
PUT ON SOMETHING SEXY AND GET HIM A DRINK, TELL HIM YOU WANT TO MAKE HIM HAPPY AND LEAVE THE ROOM, I THINK ALL YOUR TROUBLES WILL BE OVER SOON ENOUGH.
