My wife and I have an interesting ongoing debate. We both agree that married women cheat as often as married men, but that women are far better at covering their tracks. However, I would argue that women are far more likely to cover for a cheating friend than a man would.

For example, we have a married couple as friends. She always had a monthly girls' night. But her friend Cynthia would always call the husband, to tell him that his wife was on her way home. Now, his wife has a mobile phone. Why wouldn't she call him herself? He's come to me with this problem. Personally, I think she's cheating. My wife says not necessarily so. What do you thnk?

I can answer for my wife's friend. When I caught my wife cheating, she said she was with her friend. I asked to speak to her, but she was in the ladies room. I called her friends house and got no answer. I was watcing the cell calls online. I knew who she was with. I started seeing calls to her friends house show up online. My wife was unable to reach her too that night. In the morning, she called her friend to have her cover and her friend tried to. We all had a big nasty fight, and it has forever changed our frienship with this woman. So this woman tried to cover for my wife and I called her to tell her how unhappy with her I was and how I could never trust her as a friend again. She complained about being caught in the middle and was so angry at my wife she said she never wanted to see her again. I told her to give us some time to see where our marrige is going. I wound up having revenge sex with her. I am not sorry in the least, she is still not friends with my wife. I only hope to see her again someday. I am now willing to cheat with any decent woman I know is safe. See what cheating can do to what was a good marriage. I also do not care if my wife finds out.

From my personal stand point (and this might piss some people off) the person that is cheating, be it male or female, is being selfish and in the long run will cause many people more harm than good, so on a personal level, I would be unable to cover for a cheating friend. And I hate to say this, but as far as which sex covers for their friends the most, I think that men are still the front runners in this debate for a very old fashioned reason. What woman would not be stigmatized (and her the friend who covered for her would surely catch some Hell also)if she became pregnant, and her husband had had a vasectomy, or for some other reason was infertile. See, we women are much better at seeing the consequences of our actions.

How would Cynthia know when the cheater was on her way home if she was with another man. With cell phones no one knows where you are caling from so yes the cheater has no reason not to call. Maybe Cynthia os just a considerate friend worried about her friend making it home alright after a couple of drinks.

I got kinda confused but I would say that the women have a good nose when they smell a cheater. We know a cheater from the looks of their face the way they talk and what they do, while men would only suspect women cheat when they go out or where they go out like in your situation with your friend.

I would say that that is covering. If the husband is smart he hangs up with your wife and calls his own to find out where she is.
I wouldn't cover for my married friends if they were cheating on their husband but some do.

It is a possibility, I would think that she could call him herself. And if it were me involved in a situation like this, no I would not cover for a friend who is cheating. I think cheating is wrong on many levels and if I were to ever get into a situation like that and I was being cheated on, I would want to be told the truth. There is no reason to get yourself involved in a situation like that, the offender deserves the consequences he/she will face when they cheat.

Is the cell phone pay as you go? Cynthia might be helping her out because your friend is too cheap....but it almost sounds to me like Cynthia might know that your friend's husband is cheating - and she's calling him to warn him that his wife is on the way home so he can kick his mistress out.

No; would you want someone elses husband to cover for yours? What goes around comes around. You would be just guilty as the adulterer. A real friend would talk the adulterer back into some common sense. Affairs ruin children, families and others. It destroy lives. Talk to your friend if she continues in that sinful behavior, dump her! Lest you become like her.

I personally think that you and your wife do not want to get involved in this situation at all! You will end up losing these friends and, if they get back together, they will remember that you both took sides. You might recommend to your friend that maybe if he has trust problems with his wife he might want to discuss that with her instead of you or with a counsellor or some other professional. Don't get involved -- YOU WILL REGRET IT

Unlike men,... woman, don't brag about their intimate life. So if Cynthia calls the husband, and tells him his wife is on her way home, that is all she is doing. The wife is probably not comfortable driving, and talking on her cell after drinking all night. Dangerous trio!
