Between the wedding and reception, have the limo driver take you to either the place that you proposed or the place where you had your first date, or the place where you met. Open a bottle of champaigne there (if not horribly illegal) and stay for a few minutes. Then show up to the party a little late.

The best gift you could give her is actually thinking about the life that comes after the wedding, so many don't bother to do that and in 6 months they are posting questions here because they are shocked to discover it really isn't a fairy tale! Persuading her to marry you??? Thats a bad idea, if its something you have to talk someone in to its not a good idea!! Sit down and talk about these things and make sure you are doing the right thing...avoiding a divorce later is definitely the best gift to give somewhere you are marrying...

You can make sure you have been together long enough to be out of the infatuation stage. When you have discussed ALL the issues involved in life after the wedding like finances, division of household labor, children, in laws, where to live, jobs, time away with friends, sex (how much and how often), pets, and a million other things you haven't thought of. After all of that you consider each part of the vows, and what you consider is the difficult side of them, anybody can be happy when things are going well so,

richer or poorer....still want to be with them in a shack with crackers ala peanut butter for dinner...for the fourth night in a row?

sickness and health...they develop a chronic physical or mental illness and can't get around and can't work, still want to be there?

better or worse...they are in a car accident and you have to spend the rest of your life feeding them and changing their diapers, still want to be married?

keep yourself only to him or her, can you REALLY only have sex with only that person until you die?

THIS is what marriage is, not a fairy tale where everything goes well everyday, the one guarantee you have is that things WILL go wrong. Remember, you answer all these questions after you have passed infatuation, after you know what their bad points are (yes they have some and so do you) and still consider it anyway.

If you think you are up for all of this then maybe you should think about it. Don't forget to consider whether they would stick by you if it was you in any or all of the above scenarios. Check out the question posted here by married people and keep in mind that all of them thought this was the thing to do and the ONE for them when they got married too! Doing all this in preparation for the long life after the wedding is the best gift. There is a book out with hundreds of questions you should ask and answer before getting married, get it!

Taking those vows is the most romantic gesture you can make! You are marrying the girl for goodness sake! However, if you like you could also:
Write or find a poem to read during the ceremony
Send her a telegram that morning saying how much you love her and can't wait to see and marry her!
Send her flowers that morning.
Arrange for romantic room service at the hotel if you are honeymooning afterward.
Good luck and congratulations!

Why not try giving her something that costs nothing or very little?

You probably know her better than anyone so something that has meaning for the two of you. For example, something that you have taking time to make or create yourself. A poem is the obvious choice and also a good one, but there are loads of things. A framed photograph of the place you met or maybe even something to spark a memory of your first date. Keep it simple. Anyone can buy something flashy and expensive but it won't mean anything. The less you spend finacially and the more you invest thoughfully and emotionally the greater the gift. Dont worry if its a bit cheesy. If you mean it and she loves you it will make her smile. I imagine thats probably all that matters to you.

Good luck!

Have you ever watched Love Actually? If not, watch it! Close to the beginning there is a wedding scene the best man arranged for the friends and family in the congregation to play different musical instruments, they had a chior and somebody sang all you need is love..... It gets me every time... would love that to happen at my wedding.... which will never happen (the wedding that is)!

Women love it when you write a poem just for us. We need something heartfelt and romantic. Make sure it is delivered to her by someone other than you on the morning of your wedding, it will melt her heart and considering you arent to see one another until the big moment it adds to the romance. My best to you and your future wife, how exciting of a time this must be for you!

Buy a trip to Venece...if you can afford it, of course...that would be very romantic.Congratulations!
Or - take her to a nice hotel upon the arrival make sure to get plenty, a lot of roses' petals -fill the bed and all around with them, don't forget a bottle of cold champaign with two candles that spread a relaxing fragrance and some chocolates - just to make the night even sweeter...believe me she will never forget it...

What song? None. I suggest letting others do the singing on your wedding day. Why? The wedding day can be a very emotional time. Unless you are a professional singer, I advise against bride or groom singing to each other on the wedding day. It can be very difficult to sing if one is overcome with emotion.

On our wedding day my husband bought me a silver rolo, I know what you are thinking how is this romantic, but when your partner never normally gives you his sweets and then buys you a silver rolo it is really special and meant a lot to me.

On the day of your wedding, send flowers to her, and in the card write to the woman I am so happy to be spending the rest of my life with, or whatever you want to write to her, I think she would never expect to be getting flowers sent to her on the both of your special day.
