Family - June 2007

I am turning 20 next month and my mother was asking me what I wanted. I'm not really sure. I own a computer, tv, cell phone and mp3. I wanted to get some ideas from others. I am not really sure what I need/want. I know its not about the gifts...Its about the thought. Thanks for your advice/help.

well i was doing a praformance and u no when u do belly dances u were a short top right so yea i wore that and pants and so i did my dance that he calls me over to him and says when those clothes get small or you why dont u give it to me and me and u can play with it togethher
i told my parents bout this and i still cant get over it he was drunk that night and later he goes up to my mom and says give me ur daughters number and so my mom slaped him and yea and i see him every tuesday like today i will see him at the temple and he tries to talk to me but i dont wanna face him i'm to scared...my mom said to stay away from him i do but im scared i cant get the words out of my mind when i see him is there a way i can stop thinking about this and i dont wanna talk to him about this so plzz tell me a way that i could get over it! plzzz im scared of talking to my dad sometimes

That your already at the right age but still can help your mom with her finances or ur bro with his studies. That if only you have the resources that you would help them but right now you just cant? Its hard to feel this way. Like a hero with no powers.

What do i do when i never knew my mother or father for 10 years an then all a sudden they come into my life an think htey can rule over me. I kno im young but just to think of them coming into my life tellin me whats wrong an right just dont seem to BE right. After when i was little my dad left when i was 4months an my mom left when i wasnt even 2years old. Tryin 2 say they love me...if u loved me y did u leave?

okay im writing a story, kinda sad, but i need help.
a 14 yr old girl, who just happens 2 be an alien hybrid, has a greatr life. then her mom dies while giving birth. her dad is very sad and leaves her alone 4 a while. when he comes back he is very very drunk. he blames her 4 her mom's death and then they get in an arguement. he hits her and then leaves, leaving her with her brother and 1 mon. sister. wat would u do? i really need alot of help. writers block i guess.

Im 15 going on 16. I have pakistanni parents. They dont trust me. I want to go cinema and my parents wont let me go as there is no one to watch us. How can i resure my parents that it will be ok. Also How can i get my parentsto trust me they didnt trust me before but hey dont trust me as i skipped school for 1 day. So how can i get the to trust me and give me freedom.

I currently live with my parents and I dont pay rent. My stepmom decided to kick me out and I have untill August 1st to find a place to go. She keeps asking me when im moving and I dont know. She told me that when I know I legally have to let her know my moving date. I disagree because since I am not paying rent I dont think I have to tell her anything. I am looking to purchase a new home so that my kids may grow up with the things I never had.

Which is better: Being house poor (unable to afford any additional luxuries) so that they have a nice home and environment to grow up in, or a cheaper home where I can give them what they want, when they want it (provided they earned said want)

Shes always edgy about things, she never wants to hear me out. Once she says no about something she doesn't want to hear my view of it. shes hurting me really bad but I cant get her to see it. She manipulates it so I end up looking bad, then I end up saying sorry. Icant take this anymore, I prayed about but how can I make her see what shes doing to me. Her high principles are going to be the death of me.

They have made me cry, scream, and just sit in the bathroom for an hour until I could leave. I try changing the subject, telling them to back off, and even just ignoring it, but nothing works. My cousins dangle meat in my face (im a vegetarian) and my dad just yells. I have never tried to push any of my beliefs on them, and never even bring them up until they make fun of me. I hate going to family funtions, even though they happen all the time. How can I get them to back off without yelling?

Hi, I'm a 16 year old guy right now, but I want to join the marines after graduating from college. I come from a family of Indian decent (indian as in from india not natives) and my mom and my stepdad both want me to become a doctor or an engineer. Yeah yeah let the stereotypes roll in.....haha
But anyway, My mom NEVER encouraged me with anything that I ever wanted to do throughout my life. She just wants me to be something that she wants as if I were just an extension of her. Honestly, she doesn't even know what the marine corps does. She thinks that the navy, coast guard, army, marines, and air force are all on huge force who get guns and shoot at terrorists.
She is so scared of me getting drafted that she even wants me to move to Canada to dodge the drafts. I wanna join the marines really really badly, but if my mom never encouraged me with even the smallest things, how the hell do I tell her I'm joining the marines when I grow up?

I have seen people competing with each other for hating their parents i.e. the one who hates them most is supposed to be "cool". Some of them are even ashamed to speak to their parents in front of others. Others proudly brag about how much they dislike their parents. I am not talking about kids but rather teens and people in their 20s.

This question is not about children who had a rough childhood or violent parents.

my new step brother annoys me
he is 6 and he always wants to play my dad and his girlfriend understand it and told him that when i babysit him i play with him but when i'm done babysitting i get my time (which didnt work) he cried about it and said it's not fair! About a week ago i went with my dad to the movies cuz we never spend time together and the kid was so jealous he started crying that he doesn't have any toys or anyone to play with or special things, he is so spoiled and gets everything he wants, but he doesnt have one thing yet, a room he's sleeping on my parents couch right now so i can't be too mean my older brother is moving out soon and i get his room and the kid gets mine. i have 3 older brothers and we are all used to being alone i always was alone and i like it that way, i have a younger brother that i never get to see and when i hang with him the kid gets jealous but he doesn't understand how much i miss my lil bro

I stole my fathers credit card last year to call a man 2,000 miles away. It cost my dad alot of money. His wife kicked me out. He wont talk to me. Even after I said sorry. He doesn't care. I got no call on my birthday..I even saw him...and he wont even say hi to me. I feel so bad ( which I should it was a very wrong thing to do) I dont know what my next move should be. I really wanted to have a relationship with him. and I did before when he divorced my mother and ran off with his other family. I just want him in my life, and I don't know how to do it.

My best friend in the whole world is having some problems? Her parents split up years ago and they both live in separate houses, her mother lives by herself but her father has been living with a woman for over 5 or 6 years, and this woman has 3 sons and the youngest one(14) is the same age as my best friend. And they all live together and the youngest boy forced himself on my friend, and he put his fingers up her ***** and he has done it multiple times. But she has not told anyone but me and she says she is never going to tell her parents, especially her father, god only knows what he would do to him. She said it would mess up her whole fathers life and he would probably leave the woman he has been with, and her mother would lose her mind if she knew such a thing. I hate her parents because they are mean to me. I promised my friend I would never tell but I don't know what is the right thing to do. What if this kid tries to do more things with her??? What should I do???????

i have a 12 yr. old sister-in-law who starts a whole bunch of drama for someone so young. she will get as many people fighting with each other as she possibly can. mainly she does it to me bc unfortunately me n my husband & child live with her. she aggravates my 2 yr. old and pushes her down, pretty much is hateful to her. but tells everyone i do it not her. i get on to her she doesnt listen bc her mom & dad do nothing to her. she doesnt get into trouble for getting drunk at such a young age or anything (someone should seriously call welfare). but right now this is the only place we have to go. what can i possibly do to make the situation with her better and sitting down talking with her does NOT help. it only makes her worse. i understand she is young but she makes my, my husbands, and our daughters lives total hell. please give me advice. (common sense would be to move out but we are looking and dont seem to be finding any thing right away)

Okay my mom and I have never been very close, I always felt my mom didn't "like" me and she always showed my brother more attention. Even other members of the family and friends of the family say this too. She and my brother and their "families" both live in another state I see them maybe once a year or so She doesn't hardly ever call maybe once a month or if I call or email her but has a lot of money to send on B-days and ect. She doesn't know my kids very well, but showers my brother's with all kinds of stuff. We are all planning a trip together this year and she is paying most of it, which I told her she didn't have to do. I want to go, but can't get over the feelings of how we will be treated compared to my brother and his kids. I know this sounds selfish, but it has always bothered me. I have tried so hard to get closer with but it is like a wall is up with her, but tired of trying. What to do? Ideas?
She left my dad when I was a teen and moved away with my brother only.

I have a 14 year old sister (i am older) & she steals my stuff like mad. I know that sibling stealing/borrowing is normal & that it is common for 1 sister to borrow another sisters clothes. However my sister has taken it to an extreme. My parents dont allow locks on bedroom doors, however the stealing has gotten so bad that I was forced to put 1 on. (we each have our own bedrooms) On occations I forget to lock my room for literally 3 minutes & a pair of jeans, makeup, & electronics have already been stolen. I have 3 locking safes about the size of a microwave in my room just incase she finds a way to break in I have a backup. She has found a way to shake the safe so the stuff comes out the side. I have to putt all of my common toiletires such as toothbrushes, deoderant etc in the safes. She uses these for her own use & for threats. what do you suggest i do to & prevent her from further stealing? (we have sent her to counseling, ADD medication & talked to her about it & it doesn't work
