She is old enough to make her own decisions. Yes her friends smoking could be an impact if she is around often. If she is truly sincere about wanting to quit, go to the cig Arrest web site they had an offer going on. Don't sign up but they will call you in about a week. They will send you a 90 day supply of their stop smoking program for like 3 dollars charged to your credit or bank card. Just make sure that you call back within 30 days to cancel it or they will charge you quite a bit more.

I'm in the same situation with my dad. The only thing you can do really is to just tell her what you think about it. You can't force her to stop smoking, she'll do what she wants. It's not that she doesn't care, it could just be because it's supposed to be really hard to quit smoking once you start... But yeah, having friends that smoke will probably make it harder for her to quit.

Smokers are hooked on more than the smokes. They are also hooked on the habit of when and where they smoke. Example, your mom might smoke after a meal, or with a cup of coffee, during a phone call, when she is stressed, etc.

Be patient. It is REALLY hard to give up things like smoking, caffeine, sugar, etc.

she likes smoking too much to quit bottom line. Until she hates the consequence of smoking than smoking itself, she won't be able to stop.

well you can get things of the Internet to help smokers stop but other wise she has to be ready and try and just like cut her self of slowly and eventually she will stop but she is addicted to it and she needs to be ready to give it up before she can just stop so encourage her and try to help her and just let her know how you feel sometime because she will never know you feel this way if you dont let her know
hope it helps have a great one

Your mom may be trying to do her best to stop. Give her a chance. Talk to her about your concerns though.
