What do you think about kids today? Do you think that they are unruly? Why? Why not?

I beg to differ, I am a parent, and my kids have friends, that are unruley, and no I do not blame the parents, I blame society for allowing DCFS to give our children power to say if you punish me, I will
1. call the law
2. Call DCFS
I can see it if a child is abused but not taught to respect, manners, and discipline. Can you?

I do not see that parents are all bad. I am not a bad parent, I believe in teaching a child morals, respect, to work for what they have, as well as how to behave. I believe totally in time out, grounding, and spanking. I see alot of parents who are seriously afraid, as DCFS has made it clear if your parent hits you call us, or call the law. Children now see it as this, if mom and dad try and punish me, I will do as told to get even, call the law as well as DCFS do they not? Has society allowed DCFS to gain power to teach our children this is what to do?

I talk about kids today all of the time, this is a generation that lacks respect and hard work ethics. It not however solely the fault of the kids but also that of the parents. So many parents today are trying to be "friends" with their kids instead of setting guidelines and rules. Also, because this generation is one of "kids having kids" the maturity and sincerity of parenting has dwindled. Kids today need to find some constructive hobbies and activities, listen to their parents and grandparents, and realize that the earth doesn't revolve around everything they want!

Oh where to start. I think everyone should get back to basics and skip all this psychobabble BS! Children today have no respect, lack morals, and are lazy. They expect to not go to college work only a couple hours a week, and collect a $150,000. salary. Afterall, this is the self proclaimed "lazy generation" However as mad as it makes me, it is not the childrens fault. There are no such things as bad kids - just bad parents. It is our responsibility to send functional children into the world and contribute something. As challenging as this may be in todays "sad world" we are failing miserably. Spare the rod spoil the child. I completely believe this. There is a difference between spankings, and hitting a child. If more spanking went on, I feel there would be a lot less cases of ADHD. Yeah you can always give time outs, or ground them from their playstations. Gosh what a punishment, they only have their i pods, flat screen tvs, razr cellphones left! What a tragedy! We are creating a "fantasy world" for our children. We are giving them everything but what they really need. Time.
