Family - October 2006

I am an Egyptian teenager , i go to "Highschool"(which is considered the 10th grade in Egypt ) , i am a freshman anyway, i wanted to say that our school is mixed,but the problem is that they separate boys and girs from each other by putting girls in classes and boys in other classes , so we (boys) think that girls are something different from us so we r afraid to talk to them and so on , the second problem is that here in Egypt our parents prevent us from having girl friends and they say that we r not supposed to love a girl untill we reach college as they think that college is the place where a guy meets his girl that he is going to marry , the third problem is that you can find a 40 years old men living with his parents .
SO do you think this is good or not ?

why is it that your parents telll you they love you and all that but then when you try to tell them something really important that might change the way you virew the world/life they deither dont wanna know or dont beleive you.

my dad threatened to kill my other half if i get unhappy over there.my mum is ignoring me and keeps crying she threatened never to speak to my other half again.like its all his fault!! we both decided this move together weighing up the pros and cons.the only thing that was holding me back goin was the fact that i would miss my family.we are very close.me and my partner have 3 children together and we think ireland will be a better life for them.also my brothers arnt answering my calls either,i feel so alone now...please tell me what should i do??

Well im 18 and i just started my freshmen year in college, before when i was in high school my parents expected me to get home clean the house and cook dinner ( my sis helped me clean, but i did the cooking) , now that im in school my dad is always on my back about getting home ASAP, and cleaning and cooking, my mom she understands more, but since she doesnt want to deal with my dafs complainst and bit**ing, she takes his side and tells me that im too lazy and i need to do thing better and stop being so lazy! And on top of that they never let me go out, i mean i know there still have to be some boundaries, but geezze!! my curfew is freakin 10:30 pm the latest! I feel overwhelmed, and very pist off because my dad specially is always telling me youre lazy, u never do anything right, etc, i mean we have never had that great of a relationship cause hes always makin fun of me and hes the type of man who want it his way or no way! What should i do im fed up!!

Who else thinks it is rude, misplaced and vagely sinister that many Christians hand out religous tracts to childeren on Halloween, who may or may not be Christian? You dont see Muslims, Pagans or Jewish people do this....
Let me eleaborate, I have never personally seen pagans, jewish or muslim people do this, and it is an honest question, why beacuse I think it is rude to do this to impressionable childeren, whom's parents dont nessicaily want them to hear what they might believe are lies or false religious ideas. It is not a complaint.

And NO Pagans DO NOT run around trying to "recruit" people to our belief, it is agenst our very tenets.

So my mom is loosing her home because she can’t pay the bills. But it isn’t because she doesn’t have the money, it’s just because she spends it on other things (compulsive shopper). She has no concept of reality or responsibility what so ever. She is really truly going to be on the street because she doesn’t grasp the reality that she cannot afford to buy another place (lives paycheck to paycheck) and has the worst credit in America. I am sick of trying to bail her out, but she doesn’t get it. Do I let my mom fall?

okay, here's the deal. my mother-in-law (whom i love to death) is trying to make vacation plans, for my whole family *me, husband and kids* to come visit her. what's the problem? well...basically i feel as if she is making all the plans w/my husband, and then they are just telling me what's GOING to happen as an after thought. i feel like i have no say in the matter. yes, i've talked to my husband about how i feel, this has happened before. he and she still seem to leave me out of the loop! talking and explaining is not working. now what?

I just read on the dictionary n turns out this is hypocrasy: "insincerity by virtue of pretending to have qualities or beliefs that you do not really have" n its a synonym of dishonesty!! So when we lie to someone about how we really feel about them even if he/she is a family member aren't we hypocrates??
