well, your situation is an exception, it is a necessity for her since she need it to chew and eat, but i bet if she misplace her earring or blouse, she will forget it exist. but not something like a must to have or depend on. it just like an amputee that will look for his leg or the one who wear glasses, they won't be able to see and that is not appropriate for them either...
