i know people shouldn't rush into it, and I also realize that people aren't perfect so there always going to be some problems... but does it need to be such hard work? why is that? why are there so many divorces and things?

I have been dating my boyfriend for 5 months now and I am really starting to fall for him. I have been in other longer relationship ( 4 years) and I thought I was in love with him but I was wrong. I just want to make sure this is it. I like this one SOOOOO much!

It's been forever since I've seen my kids, I've written them and sent them presents through the years, I've gotten very little if any response, mostly due to what their mother has taught them, It's been 15 years, what do I do now, walk away, or keep trying? It hurts so much, and I'm so discouraged and tired!!?

Picture this. You've been seeing each other for 6 weeks, then he turnes around and says he likes you but doesn't want to hurt you and is in too much of a mess to let anyone else in his life at the moment, I know this is all true, so please don't tell me to ditch him. I want to tell him I don't care what mess or anything really, I just want to be with him.. How do I let him know how I feel? Without him ignoring me, or getting angry. HELP! I really like this guy and can see us together for a long time !!!

divorce senario: my friend has been seperated and in the divorce process for 2 years now. it's coming down to the wire here in a couple of weeks. his lawyer asked her to bring all of her financial papers for the past 2 years. so he just found out she quit her job so she would have $0 income when she got to court. she's trying to take him for everything and he's scared. the saddest thing is when they were married he adopted her daughter (which she had previous and the father didn't stay around). he's taken that responsibility and remained in her life and pays non-court ordered child support for her, $600 a month. i feel bad that he's been so generous and now his ex is trying to take him for everything...have you been through a divorce? if so...how likely is it that he will get "robbed"?

Convert to their religion? (without changing anything about you realistically). I mean if this was the only way you two could be happy would you do it for love? Or at least pretend to convert infront of the partners families eyes not to impress them but to help in making sure your partner is not disowned or shunned by the family? And then afterwards you can be as you are!
I know this is a tricky question but it justs come down to how much you love someone especially after a long period of time such as 4 years. If you knew this person was the one for you, what would you do and why?

This is very early in the relationship, but he didn't go through with it.. what are the odds that he will cheat later on? I do know of a few relationships that have gone through this.. One of these couples have been together 6 years; he was tempted early on, but didn't go through with it, his wife found a "number" but he regretted it, and hasn't done anything since. Another couple in the same boat, it's been three years since.. And the last couple I know, it's just happened. Again, it's like these guys were tempted very early on in their relationshiops, got phone numbers, you know, but then they didn't go through with cheating. Does this mean that they probably won't do anything knowing what they almost lost or are they still likely to fall again.

Maybe book smarts and plain intelligence don't go hand in hand. Because it seem for all thesmarts girls are said to have they fall into situatuions like this all the time. Like they can't see the forest for the trees.

After the first time we broke up I was a little down but did ok. The second time we were together I fell even deeper in love than the first time. I went into a mild depression after the second breakup. So that I would not get tempted to call and stuff I erased all his information, like phone numbers and stuff. I then threw myself into work to deal with it. Now he wants to start talking again saying that despite who he has dated he can't stop thinking of me. To be honest he is the one I have measured everyone against. I want to try again but am afraid to get hurt again. What should I do?

Im really afraid for him. We've talked about it and hes been going through pretty hard times. Hes been having heart problems and he had surgery about 2 weeks ago. His ex girlfriend was his life but things didnt work out. She was a mess really. I believe she was 17 when she had a baby and shes 18 or 19 right now (he wasnt the father, her last boyfriend was). She was always bringing him down but he always went back to her (for what reason i dont know). Recently he told me "he wants his life back" and said he made 7 cuts on his arm. Im pretty sure he has a low self asteem because hes always calling himself names. I told him i was there for him and i told him he could call me WHENEVER he was feeling down or had the urge to cut himself. I really just didnt know what else to say or do. All this is happening to someone who i KNOW was an extremely happy person.

I'm 14. I'm very different from most girls in my class, especially with my clothes. I dress way more tomboyish than them. All the other girls are wearing whatever they think is "In", or like tank tops, cute clothes and all. My mom says she wants me to dress more like them, but I don't want to. She says that it will help me get a boyfriend (she wants me to get one), be more popular and all. But, I really don't want to get a boyfriend, and I'm having no problem fitting in or making friends. In fact, I have a lot of friends, both guys and girls (even girly girls). I've dressed up like the other girls before, but that was only because I was trying to get attention, and that time, I went through more problems in school, relationships with friends, etc. than now. I rarely go through those now. My life has been happier ever since I started being more like my tomboyish self (except that my mom is constantly bothering me about how I should dress and all). I don't know why is she like this?
