It's a good sign that you recognize this and want to change...that's the first step!
You might want to look in your phone book for a local place that specializes in low-cost therapy.
It sounds like you need to talk to someone who can hear what you have to say and help you make a workable plan to change your attitude and your disturbing tendency to wake up in a really ugly mood and hurt those you love most.

Good luck to you!

there are several things you can do to make you feel better in the morning:
1. Get more sleep. If you are sleeping at least 6-8 hours a night and waking up feeling less rested, go get tested for sleep apnea.
2. Drink less alcohol - if you have a habit of drinking frequently you should cut it down to a maximum of 1 drink. Drinking alcohol frequently is bad for you and will make you feel like dog poo in the mornings.
3. Make sure you are drinking enough WATER. Dehydration makes you feel really yucky in the mornings. Do you have headaches, feel light-headed and have dark pee? If so, you may be dehydrated, so you need to drink more water.
4. Eat some protein in the morning. Sometimes, and especially if you haven't been eating right, you may feel grumpy because of a lack of nutritious food in your system. Eat some scrambled eggs, or some cheese, or yogurt. If you are vegan, eat some tofu or beans or something. Just get some protein in you and you should notice that your mood will lift much quicker!
5. Finally, try to think about happy things in the morning to get your mood to lift. I know it sounds too simple, but thinking about happy things will always put you in a better mood than not thinking about them. :) Smile and be pleasant, even if you aren't really up for that. You will be surprised at how much better you feel with a smile returned.

It is just as easy to wake up in a good mood, as bad. Just tell yourself and make a conscious effort to be happier in the mornings.

The change is up to you. Set your mind on the hurtful ways you act toward others. If you care about something or someone, you take care of it.
