how to turn you on in 10 words or less.

Every time I meet a potential suitor, I am asked the following question: "Why is a woman like yourself single?" Then they like to ask questions about the last relationship I've been in.

It makes me very uncomfortable because I've been single for almost 5 years. On the surface, it appears that I have it going on: graduate school degree, attractive, independent 20-something woman. It becomes a huge turn-off if I admit that I have been alone for that period of time as if something must be wrong with me. It hurts a lot because I've had my own struggles, tried to overcome them without the pressures of a relationship and I would like to find the right man for me. However, I feel that this is one of the problems keeping me back. The longer I am single, the more likely I think I will become an old maid.

What can I do to diffuse these kind of questions about my relationship past?

Ok, so theres this really pretty girl I like. She is in the 11th grade I am in the 10th. We have similiar interests (My chemical Romance, Green Day, anything dark and creepy)... Well I asked her out last year... on Valentines Day... She said no.

Well he have become really good friends, she gives me rides home everyday, we talk, eat lunch together, etc... But I go out of my way to pass her in the hallways, talk to her, and loads more. People say I'm obsessed, I asked her if I crowd her too much she said "no it's fine."

I really like her! She has already made it known that she just wants to be friends, but she said that maybe later down the road she might like me as a boyfriends...

Another problem is that my best friend keeps flirting with her, and going to her house and everything... It bugs me...

So... I need tips! Like: How do I get her to talk to me, instead of me talking to her all the time. I don't know, I always say something stupid in front of her...

Please help

It's not that she doesn't want me to have a job but she doesn't want me to have a job working for my bf's dad. It's a simple job of answering the phone in the office of his dad's garage but my mom said no because she doesn't want me to be around him because seh says I already spend too much time with him and if I work with him I'll be spending ALL of my time with him but that's not rue And I think she's being biased because she doesn't like him anyway and she even told me I couldn't see him but changed her mind because of my grandfather But I don't get why she wants me to work at some grease spoon place like McDonalds or Waffle House instead of with him. Does this make sense to you?

My frined i thought would do the best job but i mean, is there anyway for me to convince him to stay in council?

Hi I am seeking your guidance :) About a month or so ago my older sister confided in me that she had an affair. My sister and I have always been close, so it shocked me that I had no clue this was going on. She has been married to her 'high school sweetheart' for 7 years, and with him for 11 years and they share a beautiful girl together.I have no clue of what to do with this information.

Recently my brother-in-law helped me move into my new apartment. I just found out this morning that he found my journal
and proceeded to read it. Well long story short he knows.
My sister called me this morning crying, and explained how he found out. I cannot help but feel so angry, upset, confused, and nervous for what is about to happen.

I have a feeling that my parents will take this news just as hard, as they love my brother-in-law. I honestly do not know what to do. If I should tell my Mom what I know now before she finds out how he found out, or wait it out.

Any advice?

He has my bus and lunchtime. Everyday at luch I sit near his table. I stare at him constently, and I act like I'm not me. But I found out he stares at me too. He seems really shy, and won't come and talk to me. I wont talk to him ethier though. I think of him all the time. My friends make fun of me, and when he is near, and they make one of those comments, he blushes really red. His friend's sister told me he likes me, but I don't belive her. HELP ME!!!!!!!

So there's this guy in my German class. He's way, way too nice. He always holds the door open for me, says thank you, you're welcome, picks up anything I drop, makes sure the aisle is clear before I walk and when I couldn't buy a tape at a store he brought one for me the next day. It's...just too weird. He glances somewhere he's not supposed to though, so is he just trying to get into my pants or something?! It's just too weird. Sorry I'm 15, I'm a bit clueless.

OKay, so there is someone i really like, I work with him. We are only 17 so its not a big deal with work. Lately, Ive been able to work with him and get close, and I'm lovin that haha. But, I'm sort of just waiting for him to ask me out or hint it. He gets super close to me, like face to face. We flirt quiet a bit. It's gotten to the point where we touch hands and all. He even offered me rides home. He smiles at me a lot and also makes nice eye contact. Maybe he's just shy? What do you all think?

Me and my ex broke up a week ago. Basically because we both work a lot and go to school and its not fair to each other we dont see each other. It was his decision to break up but he is insisted on staying friends because he cares so much about me. He said he really does believe there is a chance of this working later down the line but stress from work school and arguing about not seeing each other made the relationship not fun anymore. Could this be a thing of right for each other but not right now?

I have a best friend, of over twenty years, who has two small children. I have been involved with her family since she got married and love her children like family. She often complains her own family doesn't spend enough time with her kids and they act like it's some sort of "obligation" to come over on the kids birthdays. I love spending time with her and her kids and often offer to baby sit or whatever if her and her husband need a break, especially since their own families seem to often be "too busy" to help baby sit. Here's my question. I get upset/dissapointed because whenever she has a birthday celebration for her kids she invites "family only". I don't get invited because I am not a relative, even though her brother in laws girlfriend can come. Do you think this is right? I've spoken to her about it, but she says birthdays are one of the only times her family ever sees the kids and she wants to keep it a family event.

I have known him for just a few weeks. He's in my class. At first I thought he was too much of a little boy, arrogant and just talked about football.A few days ago we started talking just suddenly and I loved all he said.He practises volleyball, likes Liverpool, hates Milan,he's with Ferrari (&I'm with Hamilton) but it doesn't matter. No, really... He was really cute when he was talking...(and we didn't just talk about sport!) So, in my mind I made lots of idiot fantasies and when I went today at school (duh!) I saw him and we didn't say anything to each other.. apart from some short, idiot phrases...
Was it me who was wrong, did I made too much of it, did I misunderstand it or what? How can I understand if he likes me or not? I'm not even sure if I like him. I usually like guys who don't know I exist, and when they finally realize it (and they do realize it!) I lose completely interest!
Am I a desperate, rare socilogist case or what?
And... well, he's not really much of a jerk...

Okay, shortened version: I was once close friends with someone. Life and circumstances being what they were at that time in my life, we grew apart and haven't had contact in years. I recently reached out to this old-friend with an interest in keeping in touch and possibly rekindling our friendship now. While I'm happy about this, there is one problem. She is most likely still in contact with someone else from my past who I lived in fear of for a long time. Someone who I do not want to know anything about me or my whereabouts, as this could pose problems for my family. So, how do I go about talking with this old-friend and updating each other on our lives over the years, without letting her know important info about me that could get back to this other person? I realize that NOT TELLING is the best way, but I don't want to offend her by saying - I can't tell you cuz it could get back to that person, as this could surely squelch any changes we have of being friends again. Any ideas?

I am a 23 year old guy, and I still live with my parents. I've tried going to college so many times in the past but I just can't seem to concentrate on the work. I think I have ADHD or something. I feel so hopeless now. My parents are sick and tired of having to provide for me. The only jobs that I can get are minimum wage jobs. The cost of living is relatively high where I live so there's no way I'd ever be able to afford my own place. I just feel like giving up. I would never actually attempt suicide, but I have been finding myself thinking more and more about how I might "accidentally be killed". Why should some drunk driver hit and kill some innocent person filled with life, when they can hit me instead. I just don't know what to do anymore. My parents hate me and I know I just can't live with them for much longer. I'm ready to die. My time is running short. Hopeless, and seeking an answer.
